💡 A great lip gloss provides both shine and moisture, so when I woke up with dry, crusty lips this morning, I knew it was the perfect day to put Tarte’s H20 Gloss in Islamorada to the test!

smells like cake batter
✍🏻 Applicator
doe foot applicator- slightly flimsy and moved around during application- quality was *4/10
*Scale from 0-10 (0 being flimsy and impossible to use and 10 being sturdy and extremely easy to use )
🛠 A “Getting Rid of Dry Patches” Tool
This lip gloss is a handy, diagnostic tool! It shows you where dry patches of skin are and softens them up so you can roll them away! 😅
💋 Color Transfer
This lip gloss is NOT color transfer proof, but the amount of color transfer is minimal
🔹 Texture
sticky! (not crazy sticky, but this is a *5/10 in terms of stickiness)
*Scale from 0-10 (0 being not sticky at all and 10 being insanely sticky)
👩🏻🔬 Wear Test
Lip glosses aren’t expected to last all day like a lip stain or lipstick, so I tested this lip gloss over breakfast rather than over the course of a full day

🍳 eggs, spam, and rice plate
🍞 banana bread
🥬 fresh spinach
🫐 blueberries

🏁 Results!
💗 65% of the color survived
✨ 10% of the glossiness survived
💫 Faded aesthetically (color and gloss faded evenly, no patchiness)

Tarte’s H20 Gloss in Islamorada performed well! While it lost a lot of its color and most of its glossiness over breakfast, it faded aesthetically! Most importantly, it doubled as a “getting rid of dry patches on lips” tool. I’ve never experienced anything like this, and it was far more gentle than traditional lip exfoliation!
