During these super hot months nothing beats an ice cold refreshing beverage! One of my favorite drinks to help me beat the heat is a nice cold glass of homemade strawberry lemonade! Today I am excited to share my recipe with you!
What you’ll need:
Strawberry Flavoring:
🍓 10 Strawberries
🍓 1 cup of water
🍓 1 cup of sugar
Lemonade:
🍋 10 more strawberries
🍋 1/2 cup of sugar
🍋 1 1/2 cups lemon juice (I used 8 freshly squeezed lemons, amount of lemons needed will depend on size).
🍋 8 1/2 cups of water
Steps:
🍹On the stove add 1 cup of water, 1 cup of sugar and 10 cut up strawberries into a pot. Let simmer on medium heat for 5 minutes. Make sure all sugar has been dissolved. When done, keep set aside.
🍹 Cut up another 10 strawberries and add to bottom of a pitcher.
🍹 Pour 1/2 cup of sugar onto strawberries.
🍹 Juice all your lemons. Again, you need 1 1/2 cups.
🍹 Pour in the strawberry syrup you made earlier into the pitcher.
🍹 Pour in lemon juice.
🍹 Add in 8 1/2 cups of water and stir well.
🍹 Pour over ice and enjoy!
Definitely the perfect summertime drink! And if you don’t like strawberries you could always switch it up a little by trying it with something like blueberries or raspberries. The possibilities with this are endless!
One whole pitcher will stay good for about a week OR you could even freeze some! This also makes great popsicles..:2-14-winkingFace:
