Hi beauties! So, when it comes to beauty, I will try anything and everything, from painting my eyebrows bright blue to dousing my lips in glitter. But there's one thing I've always shied away from: heated eyelash curler. The thought of putting something hot so close to my eyes made me too nervous. 😩
But I tried it and want to share with you my honest review (product: L+W BIO) 😍 I've used this a few times before doing a review.
The heat warms up the mascara and allows you to put in even more of a bend, which is then locked in place when the mascara hardens again. And it turns out it's not scary at all, I don't think there's much danger that I'd burn myself.
How do you use the heated eyelash curler?👀
Unlike traditional eyelash curlers with a clump that ensure the lashes lift, this one has a lash comb that does the lifting using heat.
The source of heat is the AAA batteries.
The temperature is high enough to curl without inflicting any burns. The heat cannot damage your lashes so long as you follow the instructions🤗.
🔥Step 1:
You can start with the traditional metal curler to give the lashes a big curl. Turn on the curling wand and test the heat level using the back of your hand.
🔥Step 2:
Place the heated curler at the base of your upper lashes. Roll the curling wand towards your eyelids and hold for a few seconds. Brush the lashes from root to tip.
🔥Step 3:
You may have to repeat the process twice or thrice to achieve the desired results depending on the quality of your lash curler. Check to see if the curler worked.
Does it really work❓
💯 yes. It does an excellent job at accentuating eye shapes. The curler heats up pretty fast and gets hot enough to produce long-lasting curls on the lash. Use the lash comb, beginning from the base of your lashes to the tips. Ensure the lashes lift as you approach the lash edges.
With the L+W BIO heating eyelash curler, lashes lift on the first try😁. The second swipe augments evenness. The heat from the wand warms up the mascara and allows you to put in even more of a bend, which is then locked in place when the mascara hardens.
PROS:
✅heats up fast
✅gets really hot
✅does curl your lashes
CONS:
❌ uses up batteries. It took a while for my lashes to curl the way I like them. I think that if your eyelashes are already curly, you would save a little bit of battery power. But it won't be by much. For me, it's almost one battery per one and half usage.
The heat is moderate and distributed evenly. Therefore, there should be no cause for alarm or concern. However, you must be careful not to burn yourself because the skin around your eyelids is sensitive.
Does heating your eyelashes damage them❓
You just have to be careful with placement. The wand works like your mascara applicator, which you use while avoiding the eyelids. Furthermore, unlike the traditional eyelash curler, heated curlers are much more gentle. They do not pull or damage your lashes.
However, too much heat on your eyelashes may cause some damage⚠️. It may also burn the surrounding skin. Be careful as you pass the lash comb through the lashes. Do not linger along the lash strands or at the base of your lashes. A quick swipe should last at most ten seconds. Make sure to test the heat level before using the wand.
Can you use it without mascara❓
It depends on the brand. The brand you are using will indicate if mascara is required or not. Some brands curl a false eyelash and eyelash extensions, while others only curl the traditional lash without mascara. Therefore, do some due diligence before making a purchase. 😁 👩💻.
For L+W BIO, you can apply mascara. Expect to see the mascara melting because of the heat from the curler. It should solidify immediately. Remember, to follow the instructions for spectacular results.
Is it worth it❓
While the heating eyelash curler is not everyone's cup of tea, it does lock the lash curl and maintain the lift longer than traditional eyelash curlers 🤩. Furthermore, the heated curler uses a lash comb instead of a clamp, a terrible source of pinching and crimping.
What other brands sell the best heated eyelash curle❓
There are plenty of brands!
👉Panasonic - the sleek curler is among the best on the market. It produces long-lasting curls and does not cause burns because the heating component comes after the curling comb. You can use it up to 12 times - one session lasts approximately 2 minutes. The wand is also durable.
👉Chella - you can heat your eyelashes after applying mascara with this wand. However, you may need to repeat the curling 2 to 3 times to get results.
👉Dust2oasis - this is an electric eyelash curling wand. You charge it using a detachable USB cable. It has three temperature settings, making it easy to regulate heat. The package comes with a lash comb and a little brush to clean up after use.
👉GrandeLASH-LIFT - this rechargeable wand has a grooved safety slot to prevent burns. It uses moderate heat and is compact, making it perfect for your complete makeup routine and quick touch-ups. It also produces top-tier lash curls that last an entire day.
If heating your lashes does not sail well with you, you can try eyelash serum. Like the wand, the serum also lifts and curls lashes. It is a great alternative for someone who fears heat. Alternatively, if you can afford a makeup artist💄, have them do the heated eyelash curling for you.
Where can you get the L+W BIO Curler❓
It's available on big online commerce platforms like eBay and Amazon. You will also find it in big cosmetic shops like Sephora and Ulta beauty.
Here are my final thoughts💭
So overall, I'm still on the fence on whether or not I'll keep using it. it's not a bad little tool, if I had the time to use it. I think I'm just so used to my manual eyelash curler that I find that using this is a little tedious.
