Today, I’ll be reviewing and styling Nordstrom’s Open Edit Puff Sleeve Smocked Top in White.

This is a 100% cotton (except for elastic), work appropriate blouse with a sweetheart neck and elbow-length sleeves that’s offered in sizes 00-16.
✅ Pros
This white work shirt has a lot of great qualities!
✨ Whimsical puff sleeves
✨ Simple, ready to wear design- There aren’t any annoying buttons, bows, or snaps to fuss with!
✨ Comfortable to wear, 100% cotton material (except for elastic details)
✨ Lightweight and breathable (perfect for summer)
✨ Machine safe for both washing and drying (and the material dries quickly if you prefer to air dry your clothes, like me!)
✨ Reasonably priced- $24.99 (sale price)
This shirt is currently marked down on Nordstrom’s website from $59 to $24.99 and is objectively a good value!
✨ True to size- This shirt’s sizing was 100% accurate!
✨ Not see through- Many white shirts end up being a little bit see through, but thankfully, this one isn’t!
❌ Cons
Unfortunately, this white work shirt also has 1 major flaw!
❗️ The material rides up and bunches basically anytime you move, giving the bodice a bumpy and uneven look.

I haven’t tried these options before, but here are a few alternatives:
🔷 Nordstrom- ASTR The Label- Bubble Sleeve Smocked Blouse
✅ Pros:
✨ Reasonably Priced- $17.55 (sale price down from $39) This shirt is also on clearance at an even lower price point than the Open Edit shirt!
✨ Whimsical puff sleeves
✨ Simple, ready to wear design- There aren’t any annoying buttons, bows, or snaps to fuss with!
✨ Trendy, “Cool Girl” Brand- ASTR The Label is a more trendy and recognizable brand that’s available at stores like Revolve and Bloomingdale’s vs Open Edit, which is a relatively unknown, Nordstrom Made brand.
❌ Cons
❗️ This shirt has a 3 star rating on Nordstrom’s website and many scathing reviews! Multiple people said that the shirt would not stay on their shoulders, described the sleeves as itchy and the shirt material as plasticky (despite being mostly made of cotton).
❗️ Dry Clean Only- Unfortunately, this shirt isn’t machine (or hand) washable.
🔷 Nordstrom Rack- French Connection- Peplum Puff Sleeve Blouse
✅ Pros:
✨ Whimsical puff sleeves
✨ Simple, ready to wear design- There aren’t any annoying buttons, bows, or snaps to fuss with!
✨ Recognizable, Bougie Brand- French Connection is widely available and considered a premium brand vs Open Edit, which is a relatively unknown, Nordstrom Made brand.
✨ Machine safe for both washing and drying
❌ Cons
❗️ Price- $34.97 sale price (down from $58) is reasonable but higher than the Open Edit shirt.
❗️ No reviews available- There aren’t any reviews available for this shirt, so it’s hard to predict what the quality will be like!
Score + Would I Recommend This Shirt?
⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 Stars-
❌ No, I wouldn’t recommend purchasing Nordstrom’s Open Edit Puff Sleeve Smocked Top due to the material riding up and bunching anytime I moved, ruining the line of the of the shirt by adding bumps.
However, I recommend keeping and enjoying this shirt if you ever receive it as a gift! It’s so cute and comfortable that the flaws are easy to overlook!
