It does an amazing job as a semi-permanent hair color and gives me the bold color I want. The full coverage hair color also lasts between 10 to 12 washes. It is also more affordable compared to other semi-permanent hair color brands.
They have a color range of more than 35 saturated shades. All ingredients and colors were also hand-picked. Finally, a semi-permanent hair color that gives you full coverage without the damage!
💧Non-Drying
As I mentioned previously, I had already bleached my hair to try out lilac before I decided to test Lime Crime Unicorn Tint. Because it's a tiny, I love that I get the effects of semi-permanent hair color without using bleach. This also did not dry my hair out after use.
If you're like me and you love to dye your hair a lot, this is a huge plus!
One of its ingredients, propylene glycol, is also something I look for in every hair dye. We all know how hard it is to comb through your hair after bleaching or coloring it.

😩What I Didn't Like About Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Tint
As a tint, Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Tint will only work for people with light blonde to platinum hair or those who have gotten bleached before. My hair was light at the ends, so this hair tint had no problem covering that. However, I did grow out my roots, and I wasn't able to color those brownish parts.
If you're working with virgin dark hair, this is not the hair product for you.
😟Semi-Permanent Hair Color Tips For Dark Hair
Yes, Lime Crimes' bold colors can work even on dark hair. However, it will take more effort. Achieving the hair color you want depends on your hair color.
If you have dark hair like me, you know how long it takes to achieve light platinum hair. Darker shades like red will show on your hair without using bleach. However, if you want a lighter color, like purple or pink, you would have to bleach your hair.
The number of times you have to bleach depends on the hair color you have and the hair color you want to achieve. Make sure to wait at least two weeks between each bleaching session so your hair does not get too damaged. Your dream hair needs patience, ladies, and a little bit of patience will go a long way.
If you have dark hair, bleached hair will help your semi-permanent hair color pop out more. You may have to color your hair in different shades every two weeks until you reach the lighter hair color you want.
If you have blonde hair, you could pull off most of the colors from the Unicorn Hair line without using any bleach. Semi-permanent hair color works like hair dye but does not last as long. If you already have bleached hair, then you can go straight to semi-permanent hair color.

🤔How I Use Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Tint❓
Since my hair color is already light from bleaching and coloring, I knew I had to try it. My hair color is perfect for using Lime Crime's Unicorn Hair Tint, so I didn't need to bleach it. I have a medium-sized length and used half a tub of Lime Crime's 6.76 oz tub.
💛Pre-Dye
You would need protective gloves unless you want lilac-dyed hands the whole week. I also have a bowl and brush handy and a bunch of hair clips. You should also grab a towel that you don't mind getting dyed.
Make sure you wear a shirt that you wouldn't mind ruining with bleach or hair dye. You can also buy some color-removing wipes to help clean any spills or mess. Before using the dye, do a strand test first to see any reactions.
A strand test means you get a small strand of hair, apply the dye, and wait 48 hours. This shows you your hair's reaction to the hair dye. Once you know it is safe, you can use the hair dye all you want.
💚Dye Session
On the day of dyeing, make sure you have clean and unconditioned hair. Remember that you should not wet or clean your hair for at least three days after dyeing. While wearing gloves, I applied the hair dye to 1 to 2-inch strands of hair to ensure I covered all areas.
I usually start coating hair 2 inches above my ear and coat downwards. After that, I leave the dye on for two hours. Then I rinse my hair with water and pat it dry with a towel.
If you have thin hair strands, you may have to leave in the hair dye for shorter. This is because thin hair absorbs hair dye faster. Let it sit for one to two hours before washing it.

Lime Crime's Unicorn Hair is a semi-permanent hair color, which means it washes away after 10 to 12 washes. If you want to recolor your hair, you will have to wait at least two weeks from the last time you used any bleach hair dye. After two weeks, repeat the steps you did to dye your hair.
If you want to remove it without using another hair color, you can use a baking soda paste. A baking soda paste is a mixture of baking soda and lemon juice. All you have to do is apply the paste to your hair for five minutes and rinse.
