Hi guys! I’m back with another IPSY unboxing but I have to say, this was one I was specifically excited to share with you guys.
Where you put your money dictates what you hold important, so it’s nice to know a bit about the history of each brand.
Here are a few tidbits on the brands in this box! 📦
1. F.A.R.A.H. - Be Beautiful 5 Pc Brush Set
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
I was also glad to know that they consider themselves luxury, but still have a great sense of ethics when it comes to crafting products.
Luxury doesn’t have to harm our animal friends! 🐰
2. MOTD Tapered Face Brush
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
Founder Chantal of MOTD has a great story you can read on the website - a deep passion for makeup and worked whatever jobs would get her close to that before creating this brand.
It was a story that I could relate to, as a freelancer who works different kinds of jobs, and I value that she chose to goo the extra mile to ensure her brand was vegan and cruelty-free.
3. Trestique Eye Mascara & Curler
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
Trestique’s products are meant for those who enjoy simple beauty and don’t want to fuss with several different products.
Makes sense they made this 2-in-1, helpful product
4. Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream
Vegan & cruelty free? Yes BUT Owned by Unilever 👀
Kate Somerville was a dermatologist, so you can rest assured that the name behind the brand knows the details behind good skincare.
Having an expert heading a company means that the products are definitely very well researched and formulated to ensure optimal results and effectiveness.
5. Violet Voss Essentials Eyeshadow Palette
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
If there’s one thing this brand is perfect in, it’s getting the pigment right.
I’ve done some research on the most pigmented eyeshadows, and this brand is consistently at the top of the lists!
6. Tatcha The Deep Cleanse
Vegan & cruelty free? Yes BUT Owned by Unilever 👀
Tatcha has been having a moment as of late. At first, I wasn’t really sure why so many were buying it - but now that I have a product, I did some research on the brand.
Not only is it ALL clean skincare, but imbibes Japanese wisdom passed down from generations.
Our ancestors really did know best, in my opinion!
7. Eyeko Rock Out & Lash Out
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
Fun fact again! The name “Eyeko” came from “eye” and “Korean Makeup.”
This brand’s trademark is its innovative tube mascara.
8. Anastasia Lip Gloss
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
Everyone has been obsessing over Anastasia’s brow products for as long as I can remember.
But just because some of their products are really hyped doesn’t mean the other products aren’t worth it, too!
I’m curious to see how these lip glosses look and feel when on, can't wait to try!
9. Tarte Lip Oil
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
Tarte lovers are usually drawn in through their Shape Tape concealer (I know I was!)
I loved using that concealer throughout my college days, but haven’t repurchased in a while (Elf 16-hr concealer dupe FTW!).
I’m glad I’m getting to try out a lip oil from the brand now to see how it feels.
They’re also known to use good-for-you, clean, ingredients.
10. Glow Recipe Banana Souffle Moisture Cream
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅
I’m sensing a theme. This brand uses fruits as bases for many (if not all) of their products.
Some food for thought: natural ingredients are always the best in the long run.
11. F.A.R.A.H. Matte Liquid Lipsticks
Vegan & cruelty free? Check ✅ again!
I said a bit about this brand in the beginning, so I’ll just end by saying that matte liquid lipsticks are slowly becoming an obsession of mine. Cannot wait to try these!
FYI - "Owned By Unilever" just means that they don't test on animals themselves but do sell to countries that require it by law.
I hope you’ve learned a little something about the brands you're considering purchasing from!
But don't stop here - educate yourself on a brand’s ethics before you purchase - a quick google search is all it takes!
XO,
-MS
