Only two years after launching ShopGLD, the team outgrew their first Pittsburg office. They packed up and headed down to sunny Miami, Florida, where their current headquarters and team are based. 💎Does ShopGLD Use Real Gold?
Shop GLD offers a variety of styles, and they all incorporate real gold into the designs. The majority of ShopGLD styles are gold plated or gold vermeil.
Gold Vermeil vs. Gold Plating👑
Gold vermeil and gold plating are not the same things. You'll find the ShopGLD vermeil pieces sell at higher price points. While all ShopGLD pieces are of the highest quality, it's important to understand the difference.
Gold vermeil is a thicker, heavier, and more durable plating of gold. It is more durable and long-lasting compared to the plating.
Gold plating is thinner than vermeil so it is subject to chipping if not cared for. ShopGLD plates their 925 sterling silver in plating or vermeil in white and yellow gold offerings. Their plating is three times thicker than traditional brands, so it lasts much longer.
Solid Gold👑

If you're on a budget ShopGLD offers an equally beautiful diamond alternative, cubic zirconia. CZ is a synthetic gemstone made from the crystal form of zirconium dioxide. It looks just like the real thing but is much more affordable.
