Hi y’all,
Today is gonna be a review about one of ELF’s latest collection releases that is the Mint Melt Collection with the primary colortone of no other than the minty green shades itself 💚💚
With this collection, ELF one again did a great job with their packaging. Very minimalistic but tells you everything you need to know about it, nothing fancy or bulky but hey that’s how you can keep that price tag lower than pretty much all other cosmetics brands!
When I saw these in walmart, I was shook because it’s so gorgeous and thought this would be such an interesting addition into my makeup collection so without hesitation, I bought immediately these 2 items that are most attracted to my eyes- the MINT TO BE EYESHADOW PALETTE and MINT CHOCOLATE LIP PLUMBING GLOSS. So why did I buy only these 2 instead of a whole collection? Honestly it’s because I was curious about their quality, and I’m currently on a low buy too so I tried my best to only purchase things that I can see myself using on a regular basis! 😁😁 After a few usage now, I feel confident to review this palette in the most details so let’s get into it! 💚💚
- MINT TO BE” EYESHADOW PALETTE ($4): very compact and travel friendly. This quad is the same size as their older release of the quad collection. The shimmers are really pretty. They're an even balance of metallic shimmer and a bit of glitter to be extra reflective in the light. They apply easiest with a finger, but a wet flat brush will also easily swipe or pack them on to create that blinding effect. The mattes are super easy to blend. They never go on patchy, and are easy to blend into the exact place you want them. That being said, I didn’t completely loving this quad because you cannot layer these mattes. If you put shadow or powder down before applying one of the mattes, it will be significantly less pigmented, and never quite build up to full opacity. These mattes love a sticky base, meaning layering generally requires you draw the shape out with concealer before laying the color down. BUT I like their level of pigment because I use this combine with my other palette, these are just supplements to create the pop of minty color on my eyes so it’s not a big dealbreaker. It also has a moderate staying power for a good couple hours after applied, especially the shimmers stays very long on the lids and still very shiny which I’m glad. I’d rate this palette a 7.5/10, for the effective packaging and the overall good quality it delivered for such a low price point. 💚
- “MINT CHOCOLATE” LIP PLUMBING GLOSS ($4): first of all, this chocolate brown color is gorgeous! “Mint Chocolate” is the perfect nude gloss shade for the medium ( which is my shade) to darker skin tone. It has a plumbing lips tingling effect as it advertises but not to the point of feeling like your lips are burning. The wand application makes it so effortless to apply and the color is long lasting! The glossy effect is also worth notable because this do makes your lips very juicy. The only thing I didn’t dig so much is the artificial chocolate minty-ish shade, it wasn’t delicious at all so keep that in mind if you don’t like strong fragrance in your lipstick. But other than that I still use this almost everyday since I bought it so this is a very solid and worth the money purchase for me. I’d give this a solid 8/10. 💚
Anyway I hope you enjoy this review about the collection. Let me know if you planning to purchase this collection or anything from ELF soon. Love to read through your comments. Let’s talk!! 💚💚
See you in the next post and as always spread the love 💕💚💚
