If you can't tell already, I love this product. It's quickly become my most used and most purchased beauty product of all time.
It's a staple in my makeup bag, travel bag, and purse. It was hard to narrow down to just five of my favorite things about this product, but below are some reasons that this formula is the best!
💄Comfortable to Wear
I've tried many lip products in my life. I'm a self-proclaimed lip junkie. This lip oil is more comfortable than my basic lip balm! It's hydrating, weightless, and fluid on the lips. Once it's applied I can't even feel that it is there anymore.
💄Easy To Apply
It's really easy to apply due to the shape and size of the applicator wand. It's large enough to get my entire lip in one swipe, and the angled tips make it easy to accurately apply to the corners of my mouth.
💄Non-Sticky Formula
This is the most important thing I look for in any glossy lip product.
That sticky, tacky feeling on the lips is so gross to me! I also hate how after a few hours most lip glosses will start to build up white gunk on the lips.

It's ironic because most cosmetic products dry out my lips and I have to buy more lip skin care to make up for it. This product is like skincare and makeup in one formula! I am perpetually prone to dry lips, but this gloss provides so much hydration!

👄Cons of Dior Lip Oil

At $35 for a 6mL bottle, it's an expensive purchase compared to my other lip glosses. I also run through it so fast because it's pretty much the only lip product I use now that I discovered it!
I have nothing but good things to say about this product but do realize the price is steep for some people.
👄💄Other Lip Oils and How They Compare
The Dior Lip Glow oil debuted only two years ago in 2020 and is already taking the beauty world by storm. Many brands have tried to create their own Dior Lip oil dupes, but I haven't found anything quite as good.
Even though the brands below are well established and notorious for other staples, no one has the same hydration, color technology, and shine as the Dior Lip Oil.
I mean, there is a reason this Lip oil is so frequently sold out!
⭕Merit Shade Slick Tinted Lip Oil - $24
The key ingredients of this lip oil are rosehip oil, shea butter, and jojoba, so it is also very nourishing. However many reviewers say that this lip oil pills badly, meaning it gives you that dreaded white gunk after a few hours.
It doesn't last that long and gets patchy quickly.
⭕Sephora Collection Clean Glossy Lip Oil - $12
At just $12 a bottle, I didn't have very high expectations for this product. Some items in Sephora Collection are better than the designer brands, but this one missed the mark.
The product has a weird plastic chemical smell. It also is super drying and sticky, the two things that turn me off from a lip product!
Packaging is also super important for me. The Dior Lip Oil comes in this chic bullet case with a beautiful silver twist wand. The Sephora packaging is not as chic and reminds me of drugstore packaging.
I realize it's one-third of the price, but I'd rather get the real thing.
⭕Jouer Cosmetics Essential Hydration Lip Oil - $20
This lip oil is advertised as an ultra-hydrating high-shine option. It does offer plenty of shine but is not hydrating. People mention they'd tried this as a cheaper option to the Dior Lip Oil, but it ended up being a waste of money since it was so drying and heavy on the lips.
It also has a heavy artificial smell and dries out the lips throughout the day.
👄Would I recommend this product?
100%, yes!
As I said, it's not cheap at $35 for a 6mL tube, but it is SO worth it!
Many lip oils temporarily hydrate and plump your lips, but it's all just vanity. When the makeup comes off, so does all the moisture.
The Dior Lip Oil acts as a hydrating lip balm too, so my lips stay plump and soft, even after removing my makeup. I highly recommend this lip oil!
Everyone is always complimenting my lips ever since wearing it and asking me what I'm wearing! I can’t wait for you to experience that too!

I've tried so many lip products but ever since I bought this, I still prefer Dior Lip Oil as my go-to no matter my occasion. It's subtle enough for the daytime, but has enough color and shine for the evening.
Since it’s my favorite product, I’ve tried so many times to speak for its performance.
It holds up well when eating or drinking, making it perfect for dinner outings. I also love how this lip oil doesn't dry out my lips like other products.
The formula lasts for hours before another coat is needed. The moisturizing effects last well beyond the color. Even after the product wears off, my lips stay hydrated and moisturized.
If you're eating, you need to reapply afterward. But usually, I can go four to five hours without needing to reapply which is pretty great staying power compared to my other lip glosses!
