If you are anything like me, I always have a million different chapsticks laying around from so many different brands. It’s always a fun surprise to find all of my different chapstick brands in fun different locations like my pant pockets, jacket pockets, purses, or in my car.
Today, in my chapstick search, I found these three chapstick brands and decided to try them and share with you how each one feels! Let’s dive into the reviews for each of the three chapsticks: Sun Bum, Burt’s Bees, and Carmex. Let’s go!!
1️⃣ Sun Bum - Flavor: Coconut 🥥 ~[Sunscreen Lip Balm SPF 30 - Coconut | Sun Bum](2106608289002496)
⭐️ Rating: 4/10 ⭐️
Here are the reasons why I like this Sun Bum lip balm:
✅ I really love this chapstick’s smooth texture. It is very oily, almost like a coconut oil in stick form!
✅ The application of the chapstick is so easy! It just glides really quickly onto your lips & leaves your lips feeling instantly relieved of their dryness.
✅ The coconut flavor is very strong! Some chapsticks smell good, but the taste doesn’t really follow through in the same way. This definitely provides on the coconut flavor and almost feels like you’re transported to a tropical island! 🏝
✅ This chapstick has SPF 30 built into it! I know I’ve gone to the beach or had a picnic outside with friends, only to end up with sunburnt lips. With Sun Bum you don’t have to worry about lip sun damage or sunburns. Sun Bum makes their own sunscreens too, so you know you’re in good hands with their SPF!
What I disliked about the Sun Bum chapstick:
❌ Although I loved the moistness and flavor of the chapstick at first, if you put too much, it tends to easily gets into your mouth.
❌ As time progresses and that coconut taste enters your mouth, it can taste very chemical. The flavor becomes bitter, and it definitely deters me from wanting to keep using it multiple times throughout the day.
2️⃣ Burt’s Bees - Flavor: Peppermint ❤️ ~[Beeswax Lip Balm Products | Burt's Bees](2106608289092608)
⭐️ Rating: 8/10 ⭐️
Here are the reasons I love the Burt Bee’s Lip Balm:
✅ I love that the texture is soft when you apply it to the lips, but not too moist like the Sun Bum. It stays on your lips, hydrating them, but without entering your mouth.
✅ I am a love mint flavors, and this refreshing peppermint flavor does not disappoint! With the peppermint flavor I always feel like I just brushed my teeth or ate some mints! The mint flavoring also makes my lips tingle after applying which feels awakening.
✅ Burt’s Bees utilizes safely sourced bees wax to make their chapsticks, which is so great for the environment! We look a conscious company!
What I dislike about Burt’s Bees Lip Balm:
❌ Sometimes the chapstick itself can become dry on its own or if it’s not used often. It takes a few applications of the chapstick to warm up the moisture of the chapstick.
3️⃣ Carmex - Flavor: Fresh Cherry 🍒 ~[Carmex Daily Care Moisturizing Lip Balm Stick with SPF 15, Fresh Cherry | Walgreens](2105379816929283)
⭐️Rating: 10/10 🥳⭐️
Here are the reasons I love the Carmex Fresh Cherry Lip Balm:
✅ I am a big texture person, and this has the perfect oily, yet thick texture, so it’s not too moist or viscous.
✅ This chapstick also includes SPF 15. While it’s not as high as the Sum Bum’s 30 SPF, I feel like having an SPF included at all is very helpful. It feels good for our lips to be protected when going outside daily.
✅ My favorite part about this is that it is water resistant for 80 mins! That’s so many minutes!!! I can attest that it really works! I have drank water and brushed my teeth, and it truly stayed on! Even just wearing the chapstick without drinking, it feels like it lasts for hours!
✅ I’m usually not a big cherry flavor fan, but this one changed my mind! The cherry flavor has a great balance of being a subtle hint of tasty, but not too overpowering or chemical tasting.
What I disliked about the Carmex chapstick:
✅ NOTHING!! This was the winner!! Definitely give it 10/10 because it checked all boxes with the flavor, texture, and sun protection! 🥳🥳
