What it is: An easy-application, waterproof liquid liner that stays on all day and night. What it does: This easy-glide, quick-dry precision liner stays in place until you say when—no smudges, feathering, or running. The thin, marker-like tip is easy to use, even for the beauty beginner, and delivers any look—from a thin line to a bold, dramatic stroke. It goes on smoothly without skipping, smudging, or pulling, and lasts all day.
Shake well before use. Sweep pen along lash line. Use the tip of the pen to create a thin, clean line. For a thick, bold line, position pen at an angle and apply with slightly more pressure. Build to intensify color. Store horizontally for best performance. Precautions: In case of eye irritation, discontinue use of all eye cosmetics and see your ophthalmologist at once.

I've tried quite a few eyeliners, some gels, some pencils, and a LOT of pens. The convenience of them is hard to beat, and I've had my fair share of decent liquid eyeliners. Stila, though, has absolutely taken the cake and concocted the most phenomenal eyeliner that I have ever purchased. Yes, it's a bit hard on the wallet and costs more than your average drugstore eyeliner (including Kat Von D's tattoo liner) but Stila is so, so worth it. Pros: Literally stays all day. It's waterproof, so if you're just splashing your face with water or sweating a bit throughout the day, you can be sure you'll maintain those sharp, sexy cat eyes. When you want to wash it off, however, your basic cleanser or a few swipes with a makeup remover pad takes the eyeliner right off. The pen tip is perfect; you get a lot of control and the color consistently comes out dark, potent, and sharp. I use it at least 3-4 times a week, and my pen lasted around 3 - 3.5 months. Even the packaging is great, and I've never had the top fall off in my travel bag or the liner packaging break from mishaps. Cons: Using sunscreen on my eyelids with this liner tends to result in smudging in my creases. It also burns like heck if you decide to poke yourself in the eye with it while meticulously crafting those swoops, but I suppose that's probably a problem only someone as clumsy as I am might experience. Final verdict: Just buy it. Seriously.
I have bald patches on my eyelashes which is highly embarrassing and my normal makeup routine is based around hiding these from plain sight, so when my faithful urban decay glide on suddenly turned on me I was desperate to find something else to do the job. This had such raving reviews that I had to try it. The first day I tried it was nothing short of a disaster and I had a very strange severe reaction to it, mind you I've NEVER had a reaction of any kind to any product, makeup or otherwise. At first all seemed well, I fell asleep watching a movie on the couch and woke up with my eyelids glued shut and a white hot burning feeling- I ran blindly up the stairs to my bathroom to frantically remove it with makeup wipes, even with every last trace of it removed I had to run my eyeballs under the sink water before finally achieving relief from the burning. My eyes were bright red and swollen and I looked terrifying. As it cost so much and I don't make enough to be dropping money like that on makeup as I please, I tried again...so far I have not had a similar reaction, although from time to time my eyes do get irritated or red- one morning my boss asked me why I'd been crying which is not cool as my job is all about first impressions for snooty clients. I could get fired for looking like I came to work high. Anyway, aside from the occasional issue with that, I will say it stays on well. I try to remember to remove makeup at the end of the day but I'm normally so exhausted that I'll fall asleep reading or something and wake up with it still almost perfectly in place. It comes off fairly easily using makeup wipes, but much more so in the shower, so I guess it's not totally waterproof. I like how you can make the lines really thin to really thick. It does take a lot of practice to get a perfect line, I use it daily and still have issues but I'm also not a heavy makeup user so maybe someone with more experience than me will do better.
