Weekly DIY Dip Powder Nails with Panda Dips To All a Good Night

Every week I like to DIY Dip my nails. I have been dipping my nails for over 3yrs and have accumulated a collection of over THREE HUNDRED dip powders. Sometimes its a bit overwhelming picking what to wear but every week I try to do something different so I can reflect back and see if I truly like the color and how it performed. If it doesnt meet up to my standards I axe it into my declutter dip powder pile.

This week I chose to work with an indie brand called Panda Dips. I have worked with their colors in the past and tend to have had good luck across the board with the powders I purchased.

The Color I am using today is "To All a Good Night" From last years winter collection. Weather its still available or not I am unsure. Color wise its a gorgeous dark blue - almost black color with fine gold glitters and larger silver glitter particals. Now I am a glitter girl through and through almost every week I have something glitter on my hands weather its a simple accent nail to accentuate a solid or a shimmer. This color was calling to me as I was going through the great debate of what to wear today. It's early October and quite gloomy and rainy here in NEO so this color summed up not only the season but the weather today. I was anxious to work with this color and see the outcome.

This color was a tricky color to work with from the get go. I know sometimes with glitter you have to be careful of them "bulking" up this one didn't bulk up per say but didnt have the cleanest application even with the tooth pick method around the cuticle line my application looked jagged and poor. Sometimes when working with glitters I like to put a similar solid base color underneath and only do 1 dip of the glitter to keep from the sloppily layered glitter look. That is what I should of done.... I also think because of how bold this color is it would work better as an accent color vs a complete mani color as I feel it looks too "busy".... As always remember with any glitter top coat with clear so you don't buff away the glitters color. I don't love this color nor do I hate it. between performance and over all look I would give it a 6 out of 10. I will keep it in my collection for now as its not a favorite but I am also not ready to axe it as I could forsee myself trying it with a more simpler approach as an accent nail.

I think you did a great job with this glitter nail dip! ๐Ÿค—๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’• Itโ€™s also really smart that you DIY your dip powder nails. Iโ€™m guessing that itโ€™s a lot more affordable than going to a salon to get your nails done! Also! Do nail dips only last a week or do you change it up weekly for fun? When I paint my nails (generally just the toes), I like to use a glitter polish and then never think about it again because Iโ€™m not a fan of nail polish remover. Is it a pain to have to use nail polish remover every single week or do you sometimes layer on top of what you created the previous week? ๐Ÿค”
