Warm Up An Ashy Makeup Look: The Warm Up Baking Method

Have you ever applied a little too much concealer? Or realized that your concealer and foundation are a few shades lighter than you’d like, leaving you looking a bit too ashy in certain areas
Well, I’ve got a trick for you!
Luckily, two of the main areas we conceal, under the eyes and below the contour line, are two areas this method works best on.
All I did here was use my Cover Fx Matte Setting Powder in Medium with my Sigma Kabuki brush when I was done with all of my makeup except eyeliner and mascara. You “bake” it on, and then let it sit for 5-10 minutes while you finish up the eyes!
Because we do want some warmth to stay, you’ll be doing a mix of blending in and dusting off once the time has lapsed.
Voila! You’ve got that natural warm glow--perfect for the warmer months now upon us!
XO,
-MS

Loved the video of you on Cover Fx Matte Setting Powder in Medium. This is about me all over and Kabuki brush. Love the dabbing method. Liked your outcome for eye make up. Your looks are even lovelier. Enjoyed this post and review. Thanks.

You’re makeup looks beautiful but this method wouldn’t work if your using your concealer to highlight as the warmer powder would defeat the purpose of the lighter concealer for highlight. Thank you for your feedback, you are absolutely beautiful 🖤

I've heard about the "baking" technique, but haven't tried it yet. I love the idea of creating a warm effect with it. Most of the tutorials I've seem in the past show them using really light powders which wouldn't look right with my already fair tone. Definitely want to try it now. Thank you!

I really want to try this. Baking makeup. Who would have thought it? And, no oven involved (hahaha).

These products look amazing and I always like the way you do your videos and pictures. You do a great job and I am going to have to try this out.

Thank you so much for the video!!! You look amazing!!! The tips were extremely helpful. I sometimes have the problem of looking ashy and will have to try this out next time. Thanks again! I would absolutely love to win the No poreblem Prime!!! I use Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich cream as a primmer and I am absolutely in love with it. It goes on smoothly and easily absorbs. Plus I love the light lavender smell and I can easily apply make up over it. My main beauty goal is hydration. My skin is always dry so I always put lotion on day and night and sometimes in between. You can never put on to much lotion lol. Have a great day everyone!!

This is exactly what I've been doing since I can remember, it's so hard for me to find the right shade of foundation, and concealer, so I've been doing this trick, and it saves me everytime, thank you for doing this demo of an infallible trick! I use a couple of primers, Urban Decay eyeshadow Primer Potion, Smashbox Original Primer,.and Primerizer, and It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Setting Spray, it has Hyaluronic Acid that plumps the skin, Coconut Water, and Aloe Vera that hydrates, and refreshes, it does extend the life of my makeup for over 10 hrs.

I just love this look. I use primer so my makeup looks flawless. My end results are awesome. I would be lost without my primer.

I am so excited to try these products. I have a hard time finding a base foundation and concealer that matches my skin tone. I use an eye cream as a primer and some brightening under eye products. My goal is to learn more about new products to help prime my makeup use. My goal is to find primers to help with the long where of my makeup as well as some retouching tips and products..

Great look! Though I am a bit confused about what "baking" really means, perhaps I should watch the video with sound!

Awesome video, as always! And as always, your make up is flawless! Anyway, this trick was made for me! I don't tan or let any uv rays touch my face any more. I don't want to look any older than I already do! So I am always kinda ashy...I am kind of a slave to bronzer! My other main issue is I sweat a lot in the summer, so I have to keep my make up from melting away. I always use primer, and I add special eye primer...my favorite is Yensa essential glow, it's amazing! It blurs, moisturizes, and provides a smooth satin glowing finish to apply make up to. To follow up and make extra sure everything stays in place, I use Tarte Shape Tape setting spray. It works great at keeping everything where I put it, no melt off or running!

I'm definitely going to have to try this method because every time I try to bake I completely fail 😒 but I am going to give this a try, thanks for the amazing video!!!

Awesome tip on getting a color from the foundation that might be too light. I know that would come in handy during the summer. I tend to buy a different color during the fall and winter months because of my skin not being as tanned as it gets in the spring and summer months. So this tip really helps me avoid using too many different colors to match the skin color when I can still get that color to match my skin tone with this trick! Plus, if overdoing the concealer, I definitely have to try this out. Also, I really love makeup brushes, they can come in so many different styles and fibers that create such unique looks and can do so much. I think that the Kabuki brush you mention looks amazing for a flawless cover and really covers perfectly! I also love the handle size, it's very nice and thick to grasp in the hand and easily brush on the makeup. Additionally, I must try the Cover FX Matte Setting Powder as it really does more than any makeup setter I've used. I always find that I'm not a big fan of the spray style setters. However, a powder one is so much easier to apply. Plus, the one you mention sounds excellent for large pores and shine that can occur during the day. I also like that it's vegan and the matte finish is something which, would be awesome for a natural look when not wanting any shimmer. Thank you for sharing and great results with the products.

Thanks for this tip, I always love your reviews! Before quarantine, I always loved to use Urban Decay's All Nighter setting spray, but since quarantine started I don't need my makeup to last as long, so I've started using more NYX products, like setting spray and primer!
