💅New Mani&Hand Cream: Is Glossier Hand Cream Worth it?

I got this hand cream a while ago and have been keeping it in my errands bag. After using it a for awhile I have my final thoughts on this impulse buy.

Packaging

Glossier’s packaging design is impeccable. But I see a few pros and cons behind this eye-candy design
👍Pros
- Classic Glossier pink, adorable 🌸
- Feels sturdy in hand
- Unique cap and squeeze design
- Very hard to leak in a bag
👎Cons
- Not as space-efficient as aluminum tube hand creams
- You can’t tell how much is left
- Not refillable (but you know I will try when the time comes)

Experience

👃Scent - Smells just like the Glossier You perfume, heavy on warm, creamy base notes (musk, ambrette, and ambrox). Love love love.
🤚Texture - light and non-greasy, lighter than my Burt’s bees and Palmer’s hand cream.
🧐Usage - A pea size is enough for one hand, blends easily and is absorbed faster than my other hand creams.

Moisturizing Power

The before and after pictures were taken about 20 minutes apart. Which means that the hand cream provides more than instant moisturizing benefits. I have had hand creams dry up and my cuticles look the same….but this one works and keeps my hands feeling moisturized.

Is it worth it?
I really like it and I love the experience of using it! But I will not be repurchasing this hand cream for the following reasons:
🌎Not the most environmentally friendly (for $18 I think it should be reused and Glossier should offer a refill kit)
💸Not a great deal. For the amount of times I wash my hands every day (definitely 10+ times) this is not a budget-friendly option.

But do I feel really cool using this in public after I douse my hands in hand sanitizer? ABSOLUTELY.

Wow never heard if it thanks for the info!

Didn't know the product. Agree on plastic waste. Still seems like a super interesting prod will be on the look out. Loved the post thanks xx

I agree about not being environmentally friendly! That is a lot of plastic to use and will take forever to break down. Hopefully they can give this an upgrade and sell it with a full size bottle and make it refillable!

    Excellent review!

    Wonderful review, Thanks 😊

After seeing the actual size of this product it is not worth the price. I can get a 3.4 oz. tube of Avon's Moisture Therapy Hand Cream for $6 regular price or on sale $2.50 and it works better. I have a few friends who are nurses and they claim that Avon's Moisture Therapy is as close to hospital hand cream as they can get. I've used it before and I'll order it again.

My daughter loves all of their watermelon products but I really haven’t tried anything from the brand yet

Like the post and the hand cream sounds great so I will give it a try for myself.

Very nice and informative post. Not unnecessary information either. I’m with you in the price thing for the amount I wash my hands daily it would not be worth it. However are you sure it’s not refillable, the one picture of the bottle alone really looks like the top would pop right off?

This is a super cute hand cream! Definitely would not like being able to see what’s left though! My hands get dry a lot, so hand creams are a must for me! And you’re right, they should allow you to refill these. When looking for hand cream I like products that are really moisturizing and smell good. I currently use the bath and body works and Moroccan oil hand cream.

The Glossier hand cream sounds like something I would really enjoy. I love hand creams year around. Hand cream especially right now for me from all the hand washing and sanitizer is very important. My hands have been staying super dry! I like hand cream to be fairly thick, creamy, it has to smell amazing, be non greasy, hydrating, moisturizing and absorb well. I love hand cream and body cream/lotion.

The metrics that are important for me when testing out a new primer are if it'll cost me to break out, how long lastingly it is, if it's vegan and for sensitive skin. I would always test it on my hand first before putting it on my face in case any allergic reaction shall happen. As to what I look for in a good hand cream, it's the same factors as the primer, also fast absorbency and without a greasy/oily feel after putting it on my skin.

I’m a hand cream guru!!! I have sooo many. What I look for is scent (has to smell yummy and amazing), thickness (can’t be too runny— I like a thick cream more than a thin lotion), non-greasy (it has to absorb into my skin without it leaving a greasy residue), and leaves my skin soft!

The best hand cream has silicone in it not too much fragrance and not to creamy because that doesn’t help when you wash your hands quite often like I do need silicone in the winter

When looking for a good hand cream, I definitely search for good hydration! Scent isn't that important to me, as long as it doesn't smell super gross.

In a hand cream, I need high levels of hydration without any greasy feel. I like fast absorbing and long lasting. I prefer products without petro chemicals.

It sounds lovely, but I'd have to agree with you about the price and re-use ability of the container. On the pro side, it smells amazing esp if you use the perfume...but them most hand creams smell pretty good, it's the effectiveness you're really looking for. I've got a hand creme from Cela that retails for $15 (I got mine in an Ipsy bag of course) for 4oz and it's wonderful...and smells awesome. That's my go to...

Sounds like a great dispenser for quick and easy usage away from home. Glossier hand cream good formula is definitely worth it if you can refill it. Maybe refills will be available some day. Thanks for the helpful hints with this review.

Great product review 👍. I liked how you set up your pros and cons and came up with your decision not to purchase this hand cream again. I usually see how the hand cream feels on my hands and is not too greasy feeling.

when i test out new primers i use different foundations with it and test it out the whole day, i have tied using primers on half of my face to see the difference it can make with my foundation the whole day, i see how long wearing, coverage, and how it looks after hours compared to the side my face has no primer on. i look for a great pleasant smell in hand creams and how long it keeps my hand soft and moisturized, i also like to see if the hand cream works better to treat the dryness of my hands after using it over time.

great review. I love hand creams , but the price is outrageous. I like small convenient tubes that fit nice in a purse.

  • Nicole Robinson

Wow too much for a hand cream if you ask me no thanks lol but great review. Sounds like it smells amazing.

  • Jessica Pesso

$18 is A LOT for a hand cream wow! I really like the packaging of this product, though. I'll stick to a drugstore hand cream!

  • yona garlit

Thank you for the great and thorough review. I have very sensitive skin, even on my hands, I don't know if this is something that would irritate my skin. I definitely like the packaging though.
