Packing Light: Multiple Uses for NARS Blush in Taj Mahal - My Style

Pre-COVID, a lot of my life was traveling and playing shows. Because I have a lot of equipment, I have to pack super light, so I am super selective with things like clothes and makeup.
In order to get a unique stage look without bringing much, I use the NARS Taj Mahal Blush on my eyes, cheeks, and lips.
After applying concealer, foundation, and mascara, I use the NARS blush as intended, with a blush brush.
Next, I apply the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion to my eyelids and apply the blush with a concealer brush to my eyelids as an eyeshadow.
I then put a heavy layer of Carmex Lip Balm on my lips, and use the same concealer brush to dab the blush on top. The Carmex gives it a lip glossy look. This, combined with the shimmer of the blush, gives stage lights a lot to play with and accentuates by speaking and singing.
Why do I use a concealer brush on my lips and lids? Mainly because I'm impatient and I feel like it gets the product on faster and heavier - which is what I want when I'm trying to exaggerate the orange/redness of the product.
What makeup do you guys use multiple ways?

Really great review. Very curious and want to try Eyeshadow Primer Potion I've never seen nor heard anything quite like it, and it sounds like an amazing product. I love the colors of the blush, I was reading the description and it says its the number one selling brush product so it's gotta be decent or excellent I'm sure. The reviews on both products seem like they work very well. Thanks for sharing these great products.

Such a pretty blush! I love being able to use products multiple ways. I have used eyeshadow for blush, shadow as highlighter. Makeup is just a great way to be creative.

Yessss! I've done the same thing with bronzers! Super easy.

I agree on sometimes having to pack light. Nars brand never disappoints and has many uses, the same as Laura Mercier's. Hate carrying stuff around so multi purpose prods are always a great idea, along with some tinted sun protecting lotion. Chosen color looks absolute marvelous on you too!

Glitter wise, I use hank & Henry alter ego kits that have beautiful luster dust. I have actually loved using the Melanie mills Hollywood highlighters as my multi use product recently. They are beautiful and can be used of course for highlighter, shadow, inner corner, lips, all over body and brow bone. I love them so much.

That is so smart! My favorite multi-use product is always a lipstick! I love going for a monochrome look on the eyes, lips, and cheeks!

Love your post! Very creative how u use your blush 3 ways! I don’t really have any makeup I use for more than one thing. The only thing I can think of is if I forgot to take my eye shadow with me out of the house & I need to freshen up, I’ll put a little blush on my eyelids for some color. I think I’ll try your lip blush idea though. 😊

My favorite multi use makeup product at the moment is Superface Multi-Lightful Blush and Highlighter Stick. It works as a blush, highlighter, eye shadow & lip tint all in one. It's available in four versatile shades, with my favorite being an iridescent pearly hue. The creamy, shimmery formula blends into skin so easily and the stick format makes it ideal for travel. That looks great!! I love multi purpose products. My favorite that I can think of right now is Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich Cream. It's a primer and moisturizer in one!! Love this product!

I use large brushes for a lot of things. Foundation, putting a base color on my eyes. I like the colors you chose, they suit your skin tone nicely!

I really like how you showed us the different ways to use this product! You really don’t need a million products to look fantastic!! I like use my Bobbi brown bronzer on my face and eyes!!! Or the Laura Geller Blush in Tropic Hues is beautiful on the cheeks and is also great at making blue eyes pop!!!

concealer is my favorite multiuse product for makeup, i can cut the crease, cover mistakes, sharpen areas of mistakes and looks, i can use a little amount of concealer over my entire face for no makeup looks. i can sharpen my brows. my favorite glitter product is the urban decay heavy metal glitter liners, i can line me lids, do glitter cut crease and use as eyeshadow on my entire eye lids.

I love the colors of the blush and eyeshadow primer and will give them a try when I get a chance. I'm with Pauline on this, sticking out your tongue is very unattractive.

  • Pauline

Liked all your photo's with the exception of the wink and tongue out not cute. Nars blush and eyeshadow primer potion and such look nice. Would try all these products.

Such a great review! I have a few products like that that I use. My favorite is my "Beautaniq Beauty London" Butter Lip and Cheek Balm. It works wonders as eyeshadow too. I use the shade "Peach Blush" which is so versatile. It comes in a tiny round glass lip balm type jar. It fits perfectly in my pocket or my purse. It's amazing. I absolutely recommend it. Thank you so much for such a helpful article! Keep up the great work! 😻

I absolutely adore your style girl! And I absolutely love your creative use of your bronzer! Not a lot of people use their products to do so many things! Also thank you for all the details! my favorite multi use product is always eyeshadow pallets because you can do almost everything with them! your brows, contouring sometimes highlighting all from the same pallet!

  • katherine wu

Great post, I loved how you outlined how you use everything! My favorite multi-use makeup product is probably eyeshadow; you could use them as blush, bronzer, and on your lips as well.

  • Debbie Ricards

I would love to try these products.
