Look #4 'Purple Haze' The 40 Palette

Hey y'all!!

Hoping all y'all been having a great week! The 'Purple Haze' look comes courtesy of a neighbor who decided I need a night time sexy look. No blue or yellow allowed. As you may have guessed, this is not my typical style. I tend to lean towards brighter and vibrant looks or casual with a hint of flair. But I said sure I'm up for the challenge of using a black base to start my eye look.... I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. But I'm not disappointed 😲😍

  • #5 used all over lid  to brow to help the colors pop
  • #38 applied on lid until just above the crease, and yep that's definitely black ❀
  • #31 applied in lid up to crease, multiple times to get color I wanted
  • #26 used to deepen #31 impact on the lid and on lower lash line
  • #27 inner eye and above crease gradually lightening to brow.

*To finish this look I used Laura Mercier Caviar Volume in Glossy Black and Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey.

πŸ’Opinion: It's definitely dramatic 😲 which I liked but was a bit dark for my personal taste. I would definitely use this look again especially if going out with friends for the evening or a more glamorous event. To get the look I felt I had to really build up the colors. The black was almost too pigmented to allow for a topper that is also powder based. And the fallout was a bit intense, but I handled that by washing my lower face after I was done applying eyeshadow and before mascara. I didn't use a primer or setting spray as per usual when testing out new eyeshadows. I imagine a primer would have made for a another application of the black but otherwise I'm unsure you would need it. This look, even as dark and extra as it is held up for over 9 hours. You can see that in the pic following my open eye pic.

I hope you all like this look, if you do please hit that πŸ’– up top. If you'd like to try give this guy 😍 a click. Let me know in the comments how you prefer your shadow; bright, subtle, dramatic, pastel, etc. I look forward to your thoughts and as per usual if you want to keep seeing my looks give my page a follow!
