Glow Recipe Review: Pineapple-C Brightening Serum (First Impressions)

🤑The Pineapple-C Brightening Serum ($49) is described as a “potent [but] lightweight Vitamin C and AHA serum”.  The formula is concentrated with “smoothing pineapple juice and hyaluronic acid to brighten and even tone”.
⭐Note: Reviewing skincare products can be tricky.  There is no way I will see complete results with the Pineapple-C Brightening Serum in one week.  However, over the course of 6 weeks, I should see results.  I will update this post with my final thoughts and full glow recipe review at that time.

Highlighted Ingredients:
PINEAPPLE: A potent source of natural vitamin C, natural AHA, and bromelain enzymes for bright, smooth, and hydrated skin. It “visibly fades dark spots, acne scars, and hyperpigmentation for smoother, clearer skin”.
ASCORBIC ACID: A potent form of vitamin C, and ascorbic acid.   Helps to “brighten your complexion and even out your skin tone”.  Ascorbic acid also visibly reduce signs of premature aging (i.e fine lines and wrinkles).
3-O-ETHYL ASCORBIC ACID: A vitamin C derivative made up of 75% Ascorbic Acid and 25% Ethyl Group. It further helps to brighten and even skin tone while acting as a powerful antioxidant giving you your glowiest skin ever.
HYALURONIC ACID: Hydrates and plumps skin by attracting water to maintain long-lasting hydration.

Pineapple-C Brightening Serum Review:
🍍This serum smells strongly of pineapple.  If you don’t like pineapple, then this isn’t the right product for you.  If you don’t like strong smells in general, this isn’t the product for you. I happen to love fruity smells, but the overwhelming pineapple scent is even strong for me. It’s not going to stop me from using or enjoying the product, but just fyi

Glow recipe suggests 1-2 drops of the serum morning and at night.  I found that I needed about 5 drops to evenly spread the product across my face.  Obviously its not an exact science.  Some beauty lovers will use more, some less.  A $49 serum that needs 5 drops per application? *covers face* I’ll let you decide how you feel about that.

Moving on…

The brightening serum absorbs nicely and leaves a really soft glow after application.  It also layered well with my moisturizer (Lancome Énergie De Vie Water-Infused Moisturizing Cream).  I am noticing smoother and more hydrated skin, but most serums achieve this type of result.

👍So far, I am enjoying the Glow Recipe Pineapple-C Brightening SerumThe smell is going to take some getting used to, but its a nice product.  I enjoy the hydrated, smooth feeling to my skin.  I will wait and report back on the claims of reduced fine lines and hyper pigmentation.
