Glossier Milky Cleanser’s Best Friend: Glossier Milky Oil

đŸŒSo what is milky oil? Milky oil was made to complement the hugely popular milky jelly cleanser. The cleanser is a wonderful everyday cleanser (I use it morning and night) for removing grime and makeup.
đŸŒHowever, if makeup is more heavy duty the cleanser struggle to remove all of it in one swoop– this is where Milky oil comes in. Its blend of micellar water and weightless oil make it strong enough to remove waterproof mascara or longwearing makeup. Like milky jelly, it contains comfrey root extract and pro-vitamin b5 so that it leaves skin feeling soft and fresh, without leaving oils behind. Milky Oil comes in one size of 3.4 oz and will run you $12.
The first few days I had milky oil I didn’t use it, as I wasn’t wearing makeup those days. It started to slip away from my mind until a Friday wear I donned thick Tarte mascara and Glossier Lidstar. That night, before going in with my Milky Jelly Cleanser, I put a few squeezes of Milky Oil on a cotton round, first wiping my eyes and then going over the rest of my makeup on my face with the opposite side of the cotton round. I was pleasantly impressed with Milky Oil in its ability to remove everything, specifically around my eyes.
đŸŒBut it wasn’t until I went in with my cleanser until I really appreciated it. This was because when I used Milky Jelly, or any other cleanser, to remove makeup, I have to really scrub at my face and put in effort to remove all of my makeup. This makes the experience less relaxing than it should be. But with Milky Oil having removed the majority of my makeup, I could casually cleanse my face in an enjoyable manner.
⭐Outside of making my cleansing routine easier, I’m curious to see if Milky Oil improves my skin at all. I’m happy with my skin for the most part but I often have blemishes pop on the edges of my face and near my jawline. I suspect this is because when I wash my face, I’m not getting the sides as well as the center and I may even be pushing some of the dirt/makeup/whatever out onto the edges of my face. My hope is that because Milky Oil is getting most of my makeup off before I even get to the cleansing stage this will help prevent some of these blemishes.
⭐Overall, I think it’s a good product for what it is. Definitely a bit high of a price point for only 3.4 oz of product but if you’re really into micellar water or makeup removers you might really enjoy Milky Oil.
