Final Review on Activating Serum by Collective Laboratories!

After 4 weeks of consistently using the Activating Serum by Collective Laboratories, I have some final thoughts and comments to share with everyone!

- Very nature ingredients are used in this formulation and I love that I can smell the ginseng – it feels very authentic
- The pamphlet included in the packaging was very informative – I liked knowing how the serum works, which ingredients help stimulate hair growth, and the different ways that I could use the serum
- Easy to use – the dropper in the bottle made application very simple

- The tinging effect was sometimes too strong and it would start to feel unpleasant. I expected it to go away after 2 minutes, but if I blew dry my hair, the tinging would last for like 15 minutes and it was hard to ignore

- I only used it as a leave-in hair treatment and I applied it every other night all over my scalp. I have very fine and thin hair so it was easy to find my “bald spots”
- By Week 3 I was noticed a lot of baby hairs around my temples, and along my hair line I noticed my “bald spots” were getting less noticeable
- By Week 4 I was actually having trouble finding my “bald spots” so this serum definitely works!

Final thoughts and comments:
- This is a great targeted solution for naturally simulating hair growth
- It does take time and patience to see long-term results - I used about half the bottle (15 ml) and I only just started to see visible results
- This activating serum did make my hair more greasy and oily. I usually wash my hair every other day, but during the time when I used this serum, I had to use a lot of dry shampoo in between washes just to get by.
- This serum is not hydrating or nourishing, and I can tell my hair doesn’t feel as healthy as it did before using this serum, and when I was using a hair mask. For this reason, I won’t be purchasing this as a self-care item because I need hydration more for my split ends and thin hair.

This is an awesome review, but brings up so many mixed emotions for me. I love that it actually helped stimulate hair growth as I have also been looking for a product that will help with my very thin, fine hair. BUT your cons of hair health and tingling feeling are deal breakers for me. I will continue my search. Thank you for being so honest!

This seems like a great product to get for my brother. He started to get some fall out because of stress. I have also heard that rosemary oil is helpful.

Great review 👍. But I have to disagree with you about how good the Collective Laboratories Activating Serum is. When I was using it, I saw great results. I was getting baby hairs coming in, my hair was looking fuller fuller and it wasn't greasy at all. I do think you did a great review, we just had different reactions to the serum. Thanks for sharing.

Wish that I could try this with my hair because I am currently experiencing postpartum hairloss. It looks like it worked for you hope that it will work on me too

I love your honesty in this post. This serum is not for everyone’s hair. It helped your bald spots though, and that is what I like about it. It also has Ginseng and Biotin, which are great key components to stimulate growth. Don’t worry, everyone finds their holy grail product one day. It just takes a little of patience. If you want a hair recommendation, you should use the Garnier Fructis Hair Mask. It comes in many different shapes and sizes, plus they are different such as Avocado, Papaya, etc. and they all have different benefits. If you try it, I hope it works for you! This was very informative.

Wow! I'm so sorry you didn't get great results! My hair reacted fairly well to the serum. It made my hair shiny, thicker and all around healthier looking and feeling. I wonder why you it made your hair greasy? Anywho, I love you nicely said that this product was basically crap. Lol You said it in a more professional way which is really awesome. We all have our own thoughts and opinions. Your pictures were clear and bright which is a big plus. If you need moisture and split end help? You should try Soleil Moroccan Hair Serum. It's a bit expensive but it makes my hair so soft and shiny. It doesn't make your hair oily or greasy and it doesn't weigh your hair down either. It's honestly a Life Saver. I bleach my hair a lot and it has kept my hair from falling out. Lol I definitely recommend it. Thank you for sharing this article with us! Keep up the great work!!

I tried the Collective Laboratories serum and it is a great product. I never had a tingling effect so I enjoyed all aspects of the product and noticed my hair getting fuller.

This is very interesting. I have never tried serum treatment before. This is an awesome review.

This was such a helpful review 💗- thank you for sharing your experience using this hair serum! It’s especially good to know that although it works, it makes hair greasy and oily. My hair naturally tends to be on the oily side, so this might not be such a good product for me either. It’s also interesting to hear that it’s not hydrating or nourishing- that definitely surprised me! 😯 This is related, but slightly different- I remember that people used to say that coconut oil was good to use as hair conditioner, but it made my hair extremely oily and didn’t hydrate it at all! 🤔 So maybe some products are better for people with dry hair (like this hair serum and coconut oil) and other products are better for people with oily hair. 🤔

Wow, never tried this kind of treatment. Thanks for the detailed and comprehensive review. So far I have used only serum in oil for dry and split ends. Mine was from dove, very rich and hydrating. Then I moved to Pantene and It was not the same. Kinda liquid oil for hair, needed more pumps than with dove

Impressive that this product actually stimulated hair growth.

Great review! Very helpful for me because I’m trying to decide if I wanna try it.

Great review with all the before and after pics 🤩its true that we need to shampoo our hair often with this serum because its sticky ...but it did increase hair growth rate for sure

  • Tera

Awesome review glad the serum worked for you. I couldn’t deal with the greasiness but I guess if it works. Idk. Lol

  • Mary

great review, showed definete results, on nights you don't use serum try something that hydrates your hair

  • Cait Burrie

Great review! I’m kind of blown away by the cons however. For the serum to make your hair feel less healthy and more oily, it would not be something I would want to use, but if your actually seeing growth I’m stuck. You mentioned dry shampoo, I found thickening dry shampoo powder ! I actually got it in the Target advent calendar last year and this stuff is amazing! I’ll comment again with the name I can’t remember right now. Lol

I have thin and thinning hair and I am interested in trying this. I love your review and will keep the cons in mind. This is the first review I've read with this information about it. Thank you!

  • Erin Taranto

Great review! I'm noticing growth as well!

  • Amanda

As a woman who has some receding hair line, this product sounds AWESOME. I have baby fine hair at my forehead, but it’s super thin and breaks easily. This sounds like it may be the go-to product.

  • Rita Whirls

This sounds like a product that works for some but not for others. Great review and thanks for the information.

  • Olivia Buenrostro

My final review will be posted tomorrow, was late due to having a baby boy this month! But hint, it is amazing!!!

  • Kelsy Payne

I wouldn't mind trying this. My scalp could use some tlc

  • Heather b

Thank you for giving review...I'm sorry this product didnt work for you, but really appreciate your information

  • Lisa

Thank you for your honesty. I thought about trying this serum but I'm on the fence now. I do not blow dry my hair so that would not be an issue. Thanks again for the info.
