DIY Dipping powder nails vs. acrylics

Ok, this is just an opinion post. Now, I've tried both the DIY acrylic and the DIY dipping powder nail kits. I suck at doing nails, but wanted to look pretty👸

So I went out and bought the acrylic nail set for about $12.00. I followed the instructions to a T and by the end of it, my nails looked like a 5 year old did them. They were lumpy, misshapen, and lopsided, even after a severe filing.🤨

Needless to say, never again will I attempt to do acrylics. I mean, I really suck!😅

Now the dips were a complete 180.

I did the first set with the tips. The second was with no tips as an overlay. The gel works like nail glue, but takes a long time to set. Then you brush on the gel and dip.

Easy peasy. I was like, "No way!" 🤩Then you do as many layers as you want. File and activate with the activator. Wait 2 minutes and buff and paint.

Now, the tips broke quickly because I think I made them too thin, i only did 2 layers😔. But the overlay has lasted over a week now with a few small chips, but nothing overly noticeable.

Definitely try the dips before the acrylics. Oh, yeah, forgot to tell you.......the dips were only 8.00 at Dollar General😁

Dollar general! Not that's what I'm all about! Just get what works, you don't have to spend a bunch of money imo. 💜
