Hey guys! Most of us by now have heard of StitchFix and I have shared multiple reviews on ThredUP’s goodie boxes. Last winter, I was very curious to try out yet another styling box… this one offering 7 items in one box! This apparel subscription box is called Wantable and you may have seen ads for it on social media. I decided to try it out and share an in-depth review on whether this subscription is worth it!
Wantable drew me in because I kept seeing super cute pieces in their ads! This box offers an in-depth styling quiz and then pairs you with a stylist who will pick out items that match with your profile and notes. You can also request items to be included in a future box! You can get different edits including style boxes, active apparel for both men and women, sleep and body edits, and even themed styles (working within a theme that Wantable has chosen for a given month). I chose to go with a basic style edit but I am totally looking forward to trying out all the other boxes!
Q and A
Question: It’s almost Christmas… is this something I can gift?
Answer: Absolutely! They do this via gift cards and you can gift any amount work $25 or more. The giftee can then choose which edit they want, take the style quiz, and once their box arrives, check out with the gift card! It’s super easy!
Question: How often do the boxes ship out?
Answer: That is completely up to you! On the Plans page of their website, it is very easy to select the frequency with which you want to receive boxes! You can select back to back boxes, once a month, or every two or three months (seasonally).
Question: What exactly are themed edits?
Answer: This box will still come with 7 items but follows a limited time theme. These are special boxes that are versions of their regular edits (style, active, sleep). Some of the themes they have now are the Vacation edit, Winter style edit, Winter Active edit, Happy Holidays Sleep and Body edit, and more!
How it works:
1. Take the Quiz: Select a category and take a short style quiz so they can learn your preferences. Place your first order to get styled!
2. Visit the Stream: Head to their options page to view the latest arrivals matching your preferences. View all of your quiz matches together or filter by category type. You can easily request items you love for your next shipment. (This step is optional.) There isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be sent the exact items you request, but using the Stream will help give your stylist an idea of your unique style.
3. Order Delivery: It typically takes 7-14 business days to curate and pack up your Edit. Orders are then delivered to you, usually 6-12 business days after ordering by UPS or USPS.
4. Try Before You Buy: Open your box and check out the seven handpicked pieces to try on in the comfort of your home. Enjoy pairing your pieces together or mixing and matching with your current wardrobe. The options are endless.
5. Keep What You Love, Return What You Don't: There's zero obligation, so take your time over the five days before check out to enjoy your pieces. You’re only billed for what you keep, and your styling fee ($20) is applied to your purchase. Bonus—get 20% off when you keep 5 or more items!
What I look for in an apparel subscription box:
💗Quality: I don’t want pieces that will fall apart on me! I also want the clothing items to be made well, therefore fitting well!
💗Variety: I definitely enjoy unique pieces that both fit with what I love and encourage me to try something new!
💗Style: I feel that a good styling box will be able to work with any style and improve over time! I want fashionable pieces within my personal style preferences.
💗Affordability: I look for boxes that offer pricing plans that fit within my budget!
Let’s open up the box!
•Midnight Blooming Graphic Tee
Did it fit well: yes!
Other notes: The fabric is so incredibly soft! I love how comfortable it is!
Will I be keeping it? This is definitely on my keep list!
•High Rise Ankle Skinny Jean
Brand: Ceros Jeans
Color: Dark Blue
Did it fit well: Surprisingly yes! It’s normally difficult to find jeans that fit well and these were almost perfect.
Other notes: I don’t love how square the rips were but the stretchy material was super nice!
Will I be keeping it? No but only because I have plenty of jeans.
Brand: Weekend LA
Did it fit well: Yes… I love how it fit!
Other notes: The bell sleeves are definitely my favorite.
Will I be keeping it? I want it a lot but the price was a bit high for me. However, I think I will still keep it.
•Pull On Knit Pencil Skirt
Brand: Max Studio
Did it fit well: So perfectly!
Other notes: This skirt is like a classy version of sweatpants! I love how it fits!
Will I be keeping it? No… I have a black skirt like this but it has a super cute slit in it (so I like it better).
Size: one size fits all (adjustable)
Brand: Kinsey Designs
Did it fit well: I was surprised because I have scrawny fingers but this fit perfectly!
Other notes: How absolutely gorgeous is this ring? I love the gemstone placement
Will I be keeping it? I can’t decide. I typically only wear my wedding band but I keep thinking about adding to my ring collection.
•Faux Leather Moto Jacket
Did it fit well: Perfect size! I like a jacket that fits over my sweaters without looking too bulky.
Other notes: The design is flattering and when layered with a warm sweater it is very warm! Would work great for fall or winter.
Will I be keeping it? I love the design of the jacket but I’ve actually been wanting one in black. So it’s going back…
Brand: Gentle Fawn
Did it fit well: The fit is so perfect!!
Other notes: This is so flirty and I’m in love with the color!! It’s so easy to dress up or down!
Will I be keeping it? This was probably my favorite item! I will be keeping it!
What I thought
💕I loved all the items in my first box which is amazing! I’ve never had this in a subscription box before!
💕The items seem decent quality… not high end but won’t fall apart after the first wear.
💕The packaging was cute and made for a fun unboxing experience.
💕Everything fit perfectly including the ring and the jeans which is practically unheard of!
💕The styling and shipping time was very quick even during the holiday season!
💕The plan is clearly laid out, easy to understand, and easy to navigate
💕I like that instead of just voting for items I like or dislike, I can actually request items to be included in my box
💕They offer a huge variety of styles
💕I’m really wanting to try their other edits… sleep and fitness and maybe a themed box!
💕I like getting 7 items! It’s the perfect amount.
💕They send a good variety of different pieces, including accessories
💕You save 20% on all items if you keep five or more. I really like that you don’t have to keep the whole box.
💔The pieces are pricier than I typically would pay! Especially $44 for a t-shirt.
Wantable Style Edit | Expert Personal Stylists
So how does Wantable hold up when compared to the other styling boxes I’ve tried? Let’s see…
💚I love that you can shop outfits featuring pieces you kept
💚They’ve sent me some cute stuff!
💚Prices are lower than Wantable
💚Usually offer decent quality items
💔The clothes don’t always fit me right especially the jeans
💔A lot of their styles seem geared towards different preferences (like they don’t have a lot of boho pieces)
💔I have had several items that were not good quality

ThredUP’s Goodie Boxes
💙Good for the planet since their clothing is used

💙Pay attention to my notes describing what I like and want
💙Always have a fantastic variety
💙Good prices (I’ve gotten brand new items from brand names for super cheap)
💙Offer a variety of box options including seasonal
💔It is second hand and although they are pretty strict on what items they accept, some pieces may have minor signs of wear.

Why you should trust me!
I have tried several styling boxes and gotten multiple boxes from both ThredUP and Stitchfix. I always try to choose carefully and compare because I want to spend my money on items worth having… and I’m sure you do too!
I really enjoyed my Wantable box! Ultimately, I think that StitchFix has a better set up on their app (other than I really love being able to request an item on Wantable’s website). However, I like what I got in one box from Wantable better than anything I received from StitchFix. And it all fit perfectly which did not happen with StitchFix. Price wise they are about the same but since Wantable sends more you will pay more. On the other hand ThredUP’s boxes are inexpensive and for half the cost of the other boxes you can get up to 10 items. The second hand nature may be a deterrent to some but to me, I like that thrifting is good for the environment and my wallet.
If I had to choose my favorite box, it would be ThredUP. But I am planning on getting more from Wantable and I think it’s a super fun subscription box! I mean, I liked everything and everything fit!! How can you beat that?
