I’ve been dying my hair blonde since I was in high school and that was more than 10 years ago 😳 Let me tell you a thing about blonde hair… although it looks BEAUTIFUL, it’s painstakingly hard to maintain. Not only does the bleach damage my hair and make it look like straw, but the color usually turns yellow after a few washes. 😭
So, I did something crazy and got myself a $236 line of Virtue Labs hair products, which includes:
Virtue Recovery Shampoo For Damaged Hair
Virtue Recovery Conditioner For Damaged Hair
Virtue Split End Serum
Virtue Restorative Treatment Mask
Virtue Healing Oil for Dry, Damaged, Frizzy Hair
🤔 What makes Virtue Labs haircare line unique?
Virtue Labs line is the first ever to include Alpha Keratin 60ku in their products.
This is a natural, human keratin protein so our hair recognizes it as its own. It strengthens the hair and repairs damage from heat, chemicals and color treatment.
Other ingredients include hydrolyzed quinoa, baobab seed oil and grapefruit extract which return moisture and shine to dry hair.
🤔 What I like about each of these products?
- RECOVERY SHAMPOO: This shampoo has one of the most unique textures that I’ve ever seen. It’s the only shampoo I used that doesn’t mess with the color of my blonde hair or make it yellow. Also, I definitely noticed that my hair is starting to get repaired after a month of using this shampoo. It used to be so dry and damaged that I couldn't run my fingers through it without snagging knots. Now, my hair looks a whole lot healthier than it used to. 😍
- RECOVERY CONDITIONER
: This conditioner has a very rich consistency which hydrates my hair perfectly without leaving a greasy residue behind. I also love the subtle scent of vanilla and warm woodsy tones which is very pleasant and too overwhelming. I can also tell that it helps manage the frizz in my hair, so that’s a bonus! 🙌🏼
- SPLIT END SERUM
: Such a tiny bottle, yet it works wonders on split ends! I simply apply a little bit of this serum on damp hair and it seals the ends like magic. I feel like this is one of the most important products in my haircare routine. It maintains my long hair and prolongs visits to the hairdresser. 🙌🏼
- HEALING OIL
: This oil smooths out my hair so well that I don’t even need to use a flat iron to straighten it. It also smells amazing, has a very lightweight texture and it doesn’t make my hair look greasy at all. 😍
- RESTORATIVE TREATMENT MASK
: You guys, I swear by this mask! It’s soooo good. I use it once a week and it nourishes my hair like no other. My hair feels so soft afterwards that I just want to keep running my fingers through it. 😅
What I don't like?
Honestly, the only thing that’s the issue here is the price. The entire collection of these full-sized products costs $236 which is a lot to pay considering that they last roughly a month and a half. 😬 Virtue Labs also offers travel-sized packages so it might be a good idea to get those first. This will help you decided whether or not you want to commit to paying for full-sized product aftwrwards. 😊
Other similar hair care products I would recommend are
- BoldUniq BoldPlex Bond Restore Mask
It costs about $30, yet it’s bigger than the Virtue Labs mask and it does a great job as well
- Hair Restore Advanced Shampoo and Conditioner
They cost $60 in total, which is less than spending $82 on Virtue Labs shampoo and conditioner. They did wash away my color a little bit, but my hair always looked soft and healthy with this line of products as well
- Original Hair Energizer Shampoo and Conditioner
Only $20 in total yet this line contains DHT-blockers that prevent hairloss and natural oils that make my hair shiny and soft. Definitely recommended
I would absolutely recommend the Virtue Labs products to everyone although they are definitely pricey. As a model, I care A LOT about my hair as it’s one of my biggest assets that helps me get paid gigs. So naturally I wouldn’t mind spending extra cash if it meant maintaining my hair in perfect condition. 😁🙌🏼
