This childhood toy has been around for decades ⏰, but it wasn't until recently that the toy was upgraded. Now weighted hula hoops have been shown to provide excellent results and help build core strength and proper posture 🚶♀.
I use the Sports Hoop Weighted Hula Hoop. This is a 4-pound weighted hula hoop, but the brand offers a 3.3 and 4.9-pound hula hoop too 🏋♀.
This hoop has eight detachable pieces, so it's easy to store and travel with 💙. Because each piece is curved, it won't detach as you're using it 🙌🏻✨.
Weighted hoops can leave bruising if you're not careful 😓❌, but I really like the Sports Hoop Brand because it's covered in really comfortable foam 🙌🏻. If you do experience any irritation on your skin, try using it while wearing a shirt. This helps keep the material off of your skin directly 🌿.
Hula-hooping workouts stimulate your core by focusing all of the weight on those muscles. The faster the hula hoop spins around your waist, the more intense the workout will be 💧🏋♀.

If you're not familiar with weighted hula hoops, please don't buy the heaviest one that you can find 👎.
This will cause bruising near the ribs, stomach, and back 😓❌. The Sports Hoop brand has a chart based on height and weight of which hoops might work the best for you.
I've never had an issue with my hula hoop, but some reviewers said that the hoop scratched their skin near their abs 🌵. If this happens to you just try wearing a longer shirt so the hoop isn't touching your skin directly 🎽.

Suitable for beginner hula hoopers, this weighted hoop has a smooth finish all the way around 🤩. It comes with 8 detachable pieces, but you can leave out 1 or 2 pieces for a smaller hoop 🌿.
If you're not into a lot of colors, this is a pink and gray hoop, and the separate colors make reattaching it easier 🙌🏻. This is a very lightly weighted hula hoop as it's only 1.9 pounds 🏋♀.

Pros
This is a super cheap option for beginner hula hoopers 💁♀. If you're just looking to see what a hula hoop can do for your core strength this might be a good fit for you 💙.
Cons
The foam padding on this hula hoop doesn't cover each section fully. This leaves gaps where the plastic middle is and reviews found it to be slightly uncomfortable 🌵👎.
I also don't love that it's such a small weight, most beginners find better results with a 3-pound hoop ❌.

I think it's awesome that you can add your own weight to this hoop if you feel like you need to 🤩. It seems really user-friendly and allows you to build more core strength at your own pace 💙.
I also like that there are a few different color options to choose from. As much as I love my multi-colored hula hoop 🌈, I know that's not everyone's favorite design.
Cons
One thing that you should know about this hula hoop is that it's not padded 🌵, so it won't provide you with any cushioning 😓.
This probably won't be a problem with the minimal weight that it comes with, but if you add more weight it could really bruise your skin ❌.
