Hey everyone, ๐
So I wanted to test out how good this dry shampoo would work on extra oily hair.
Normally, I would have applied dry shampoo WAY long before my hair is this oily but I wanted to see how dry shampoo could work with extra oily hair.
This dry shampoo worked amazing! ๐ It is such a drastic change from before to after of me using this product. The oiliness of my hair made my hair look really flat but dry shampoo helped combat the oiliness and gave my hair some lift. ๐
What I used:
- Authentic Beauty Concept Dry Shampoo 2.1 oz size from Ulta Beauty.
(Full-size product at 5.3 oz retails for $25)
- A wide plastic tooth comb
- 4 hair ties
Directions - Part 1:
Before I spray dry shampoo, I part my hair into a middle part and spray the dry shampoo on the roots of my hair.
I then section my hair into different sections to get the side parts so I cover all the roots of the top of my head with dry shampoo.
I then spray the side roots and back roots of my head with dry shampoo.
Part 2:
Next, I take all the hair bands out and rub the dry shampoo into my hair/ rub my scalp for the dry shampoo to absorb the oil in my hair and to dissolve the dry shampoo.
Once I feel like I have rubbed the dry shampoo well enough into my hair (usually a minute), I use the comb to brush all of my hair and to part my hair on the side where I usually keep my part.
That's how I do it! ๐๐ผโ๏ธ
โค๏ธ I love dry shampoo and wanted to show how well dry shampoo can work. I only let my hair get this oily to try out how well dry shampoo would work. What I usually do is spray my hair with dry shampoo at the roots if any flatness or oiliness appears.
I started using dry shampoo and it has helped me a lot with keeping my hair healthier. Washing hair every day is so bad for your hair. I wash my hair twice a week, once a week with a purple shampoo and conditioner, and the 2nd time of the week with a normal shampoo and conditioner. Between those two washes, I use dry shampoo when I need it.
โ๏ธ My favorite tip that I have heard from others that has helped me a lot is to dry shampoo your hair the night before you sleep then to braid your hair. This way, while you sleep, the dry shampoo absorbs the oil and makes it easier to manage in the morning. ๐คฏ
My hair is still acclimating to only 2 washes a week. When you start washing your hair less, at the beginning your hair will be more oily but after a while, your hair will make less oil. My hair is still making a lot of oil!
In the before picture, my hair wasn't washed for 5 days. ๐ Five days! I waited that long to be able to do the dry shampoo experiment with it.
Let me know what you guys think and if you use dry shampoo. I love trying dry shampoo out so if you have any favorites I would love to hear ๐.
xoxo,
