#wellnesscheck Wellness is so incredibly important, especially this year with all of the stress and the new normal which can put limitations on many of the practices we used to stay well and healthy. For me I have five major components of my wellness checklist.
1. meditation and journaling
2. exercise
3. supplements
4. skin care
5. rest.
Meditation has been a new practice for me and it has not come easy. With all of the technology it is really hard to disconnect and to be present it truly has been some thing that each day I try and get a bit better at. I try to meditate in the morning first thing or right before bed in the evening from anywhere between 10 to 20 minutes. I have found that getting meditation and yoga gear has really helped me be more comfortable and be present during my practice. From Amazon I was able to buy an adorable yoga seat which has two different outer shams that can be removed and washed I sit on this and it really is much more comfortable than a mat and allows my feet to drape comfortably. I also purchased an acupuncture mat which comes with a foot and head slim pillow. I use this when I meditate at times but also during the day I can put it on my chair when I am working. During my meditation I also have my rose quartz and obsidian crystals which promote energy of love and concentration and I also use my diffuser with either lavender or citrus oil‘s. Before bed I like to write in my journal and many times after I meditate I have clear mind and therefore can write really profound thoughts.
Exercise has always been a big part of my practice for wellness. I enjoyed all forms of exercise from tennis to running to strength work and now that I live in San Diego I enjoy the water sports such as as paddle boarding and surfing. I find that when I exercise I am able to focus on being physically and mentally well.
I have also made sure that I am taking supplements to stay healthy especially this year I take digestive oils from the company revive which is affordable and high-quality. I also make sure to take my B12, ionic zinc and elderberry vitamin C supplements in addition to many more. I also want to make sure that my skin is being taken care of so I make sure to use serums for the day and the evening as well as eye cream and collagen products for my lips.
Rest is extremely important and I always make sure to use my diffuser with a lavender rest oil as well as spraying my bed and pillows and using an eye mask so that the light does not disturb me. I hope that everyone is doing what they can to stay well and if any of my tips are helpful I hope you’re able to use them. #WellnessCheck
