The BEST WAY to Remove Makeup, based on skin type 🧼

views · 11-09-2020

Hey PrismPop! In this video, I'm going over the best ways to remove your makeup, based on your skin type. Whenever you are taking makeup off, mask sure you are using the double cleanse method! The three options are great first step cleansers, but should always be followed up by a water-based cleanser after to truly wash your skin! 🧖🏻‍♀️

💙 CLEANSING BALM: 💙

🧼 My personal favorite of the three!

🧼 Super similar to cleansing oil, that's why I didn’t make it a 4th option. The only difference is texture, balms are thinner and easier to wash off, but oils can be more hydrating.

🧼 I know putting oil on your face van be scary, but remember, ‘like attracts like’ so the oil will pull off excess oils in your skin and in your makeup, so it clears in away and prevents clogged pores and breakouts.

🧼 PRO TIP: I like to rub my fingers back and forth over my lashes because it helps to remove that hard to get mascara

🧼 REMEMBER: it’s ok if there is a little balm leftover on your skin, your second water-based cleanser will wash it away!

💙 MICELLAR WATER: 💙

💧Anytime I go camping micellar water has saved my life, it’s also great for traveling because different waters around the world can affect your skin differently.

💧 PRO TIP: Hold the cotton rounds over your eyes for a few seconds before wiping, it helps break down that stubborn mascara

💧DOWNSIDE: If you are using cotton rounds every day, you are creating a lot of waste. I recommend buy some reusable cotton rounds you can just throw in the washing machine with your laundry! I got one off of Amazon.

💙 MILK CLEANSER: 💙

🧴 FUN FACT: Milk cleanser can be used on dry skin as a makeup remover, followed by a water based cleanser, OR can be used as a second step cleanser after micellar water or balm.

🧴 If you have super dry skin, I def recommend using the cleansing balm, milk cleanser combo!

🧴 PERSONAL OPINION: Sometimes I feel like milk cleansers don’t do as good of a job getting off your makeup as the other two options, so I usually only use it on no makeup days (you should still double cleanse to wash off sunscreen) or lighter makeup days!

🧴 PRO TIP: While this is great for sensitive skin, if you struggle with acne, you will probably need to stick to something with stronger ingredients
