Are you always on the lookout for new hair care products? Does your hair type not cooperate with anything you buy?
If so, you probably spend a lot of time at Target looking for the next best shampoo and conditioner!
I love Target shampoo and conditioner, as well as their other hair care products from popular brands. I bought a few products that I'd like to share with you! 🤗
Read on for my quick Target shampoo and conditioner review. 😉
What Target Shampoo and Conditioner Did I Buy? My Experience and Thoughts🧴
I bought Target shampoo and conditioner as well as some other hair care products. The products I bought were:
- Rhyme & Reason Colour Protect Shampoo and Conditioner
- Kristen Ess The Purple One Shampoo and Conditioner
- Kristen Ess Deep Treatment Mask
- Kristen Ess Weightless Shine Leave-in Conditioner
I'm going to talk about my experience with all of these products. Just a quick preview, they were hit-and-miss!
Key Decision Factors📝
First, I'll give a brief rundown of my overall thoughts. I'll discuss the brand reputations, benefits, general price ranges, hair types they're good for, and the availability of the products. Hopefully, this helps you!😊
Rhyme & Reason is a Target-exclusive brand. It offers affordable products for a variety of hair types. The brand claims that it's "clean" and eco-friendly.
They're also cruelty-free and vegan! 🐇🚫
Kristen Ess does not seem to be a Target-exclusive brand, but it is easily available at Target. It's mid-range and the products are all cruelty-free. The brand is known for the Zip-Up technology that prevents split ends.
These product benefits have a pretty wide range! 😍
The Rhyme & Reason shampoo and conditioner that I chose are for color protection. This means that they'll help with damaged color-treated hair and slow down the loss of color during washes.
The Kristen Ess shampoo and conditioner are great for getting rid of split ends, smoothing hair, and toning blonde hair so it doesn't look brassy.
The Kristen Ess hair mask and leave-in conditioner are for hydrating and nourishing hair regardless of whether or not it's dyed. ✨
General Price Ranges🏷️💲
The products that I chose vary in price!💸
The Rhyme & Reason shampoo and conditioner are only $8.99, which is super affordable. The conditioner from Kristen Ess is $28, which is mid-range, and the travel-size shampoo is $5.99.
The hair mask from Kristen Ess is $15 and the leave-in conditioner is $11.99.
In other words, there are products for any budget! 💸
The hair products I picked should be useful for all hair types. The shampoo and conditioner are for color-treated hair, however.
The purple shampoo and conditioner from Kristen Ess are for people with dyed blonde hair. The shampoo and conditioner from Rhyme & Reason are both for people with color-treated hair of any variety. 🦳
One of the best things about Target shampoo and conditioner is that it's so available!
Not only are there plenty of Target locations all over the country, but you can also buy all of their shampoo and conditioner online. 💻
You should have no problem finding the products I review if you decide to give them a try! ✨
The Target Shampoos In My Haul: Fast Facts!📝
For this section, I will go in-depth and tell you quick facts about each shampoo that I bought as well as the pros and cons of each product.
1. Rhyme & Reason | Colour Protect Shampoo🧴
The Rhyme & Reason Colour Protect Shampoo is a cruelty-free shampoo that you can buy for 💵$8.99.
It's for most hair types as long as the hair is color-treated.
It cleans hair without stripping color from it. Color should still look bright and bold for longer than if you used a standard shampoo. For the price, it's a decent shampoo. It's not my favorite, but it works.
Won't strip color from color-treated hair
It's sulfate-free and vegan
This shampoo is super affordable and comparable to common drugstore brands
No cons for the shampoo
2. Rhyme & Reason | Colour Protect Conditioner🧴
The Color Protect Conditioner goes with the Colour Protect Shampoo. It's also 💵$8.99 at Target and it also works for most hair types as long as they're color-treated.
This conditioner is supposed to detangle and soften hair. It contains white tea and antioxidants to protect hair from damage. That said, it didn't work for me.👎😕
Keeps colorful hair vibrant
It's sulfate-free and vegan
It's an affordable product, especially for a color-protecting conditioner
It didn't actually condition my hair
3. Kristen Ess | The Purple One Conditioner 🧴💜
The Purple One Conditioner from Kristen Ess is for toning blonde hair. The full-size container cost💵 $28, which is a bit steep, but for a purple conditioner, it's not unreasonable.
The best thing about this product (and all Kristen Ess products) is the zip-up technology. It's supposed to reduce split ends while protecting hair from environmental factors and damage.
This conditioner is sulfate-free and vegan.🌿🌿
It's good for people with color-treated hair 🌈
It's sulfate-free and vegan
Helpful zip-up technology for split ends
No cons for the conditioner
4. Kristen Ess | The Purple One Shampoo🧴💜
This is another product for toning blond hair and it goes with the Purple One conditioner💜. I only got a travel-sized product for $5.99, which is a reasonable price💵, especially if you don't use as much shampoo as you do conditioner.
This product does what it claims to do, but it also stains everything purple! Clean up every drop!
It works as intended if you need to tone brassy blonde hair
It's sulfate-free, which is great for people with dry or curly hair
Love the zip-up technology
It will stain you, your bathtub, and everything else
5. Kristen Ess | Deep Treatment Mask🧴💆🏼♀️
The Kristen Ess Fragrance-Free Deep Conditioning Treatment Mask was one of my two favorite products from my Target shampoo and conditioner hau💗l! I think it's a fantastic item and I'm sure to use it in the future.
It's completely vegan🌿🌿 as well as sulfate-free. It's a creamy mask that should be effective for all hair types. It will add hydration and nourishment to dry or frizzy hair.
It costs $15, which is reasonable for this product. I'd recommend it to a friend. 😍
It actually works! It did what the brand claimed it would do.
I love the packaging
It's nice that the product is fragrance-free
No Cons, I love this product
5. Kristen Ess | Weightless Shine Leave-In Conditioner🧴✨
I really enjoyed this Kristen Ess Weightless Shine Leave-in Conditioner! It's my favorite product from the haul. It's a spray-type conditioner for all hair types. It's good for detangling, softening, strengthening, and shine!
It costs $11.99 if you buy it from the Target website. This is a super reasonable price for such a good product. ✨
It actually works as described! It's my favorite product from the haul.
It has the same cool zip-up technology that other Kristen Ess products have.
No Cons, I love this product
Final Thoughts on Target Shampoo and Conditioner (and More)✍️
When it comes to the individual items I purchased, I have mixed feelings. The Kristen Ess leave-in conditioner and hair mask were great👌. I will definitely be using these products in the future and I recommend them.👍💯
The other shampoo and conditioner products I bought were fine, but they didn't really work out for me. They may be better for your hair type, but I don't see myself re-purchasing them in the future.
I might try different products from Target next time! There are so many to choose from.
Q&A Session About Target Shampoo and Other Hair Care Products❓🙋
Do you have any burning questions about Target shampoo and conditioner? Here's a quick Q&A.
What Are the Top-Rated Target Shampoos?💬
At the moment, the shampoo and conditioner with the highest rating on the Target website is the Morrocanoil Moisture Repair set. Because not every shampoo and conditioner will work with every hair type, that rating may not apply to you!
What Is the Best Target Shampoo for Thinning Hair and Hair Loss?💬
This is not a problem that I have, so I haven't tried shampoo and conditioner for thinning hair. That said, Pura D'or Hair Thinning Therapy can be found at Target and it has good reviews.
What Are the Best Hair Care Brands Available at Target?💬
This is subjective and will depend on your hair type and preferences. Popular brands at Target include:
💗 Kristen Ess
💗 Rhyme & Reason
💗 Paul Mitchell
This is only a short list! There are so many brands of shampoo and conditioner at Target.
Is There a SheaMoisture Shampoo at Target?💬
Yes. Target carries several SheaMoisture shampoos. Each individual location will carry different products, so if you want a specific one, order your shampoo and conditioner online.
Is Target Shampoo and Conditioner More Affordable?💬
Target carries many different types of shampoo and conditioner (among other things) for all different hair types. Because of this, the price varies. 💸💸
Target shampoo and conditioner will be more expensive, in most cases, than what you can get at stores like Walmart and dollar stores. It will often be less expensive than brands you can buy at beauty supply stores.
The cheapest hair care product on their website is 99 cents for a travel-size conditioner. The most expensive is $139 for a full-size conditioner from a different brand🤑.
So, yes and no. You can find very cheap or very expensive products at Target. 🎯
Will You Try Target Shampoo and Conditioner?😍
So what do you think? Will you try Target shampoo, conditioner, and other hair care products? Finding the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type is a challenge, but Target is a great place to do it!
