I recently heard that Apple purposefully slows down older iPhone models as soon as new models are released. While this definitely seemed unreal, I did notice that my iPhone was starting to work a lot more slowly and my battery was starting to drain super quickly. Iām not sure if that was Appleās fault or just my iPhone getting old, but I figured that it wouldnāt hurt to clean up my phoneās storage because I certainly had way too many files on there. This is where I came across the Speedy Clean App
What is Speedy Clean App?
Speedy Clean is an advance app for iPhone users which will scan, identify and remove junk files from your phone and make your phone work faster + stop your battery from draining so quickly. š§¹

So, Iām gonna start here with what I donāt like about this app because I feel like itās important to talk about this first just so you get an idea of what youāre dealing with.
Speedy Clean App Problems
CON š SLOW: I donāt know if this is the case only with my phone because I had it for quite some time and I have a lot of files in there, but I literally waited about 15 minutes for the scan to be completed. For an app thatās called āSpeedy Cleanā, 15 minutes is definitely not speedy at all. But thatās not the end of itā¦ keep reading.
CON š MISLEADING: While this app is free to download it absolutely doesnāt work unless you pay to unlock the cleaning feature. Itās a very misleading concept so that really makes me dislike the app from the beginning. Basically you download the app, thinking that itās free. You run the scan without any problems (although it takes quite some time to finish) BUT then thereās a catch. Once the scan is complete, you are presented with an option to ācleanā the junk that was found and free up your storage. However, when you click the button, you instantly get a pop-up notification which asks you to upgrade to premium to unlock the option to clean the junk. So, basically unless you upgrade to premium, this app doesnāt do anything.
CON š PRICEY: So, since you canāt use this app unless you pay, letās see how much it costs to upgrade to premium. There are three options available:
- weekly subscription ($8)
- monthly subscription ($11)
- lifetime access ($45)
This is definitely pricey for an app that you wonāt be using that often. Letās face it, you only need to run a scan every once in a while (when your phone is starting to slow down).
With all that said, the app does work once you upgrade to premium and there are some things that I definitely loved about it, so I would like to share my experience about that as well:
What I love about Speedy Clean App
Once I upgraded to premium, I ran the scan again and this time it was a lot faster that the first time. I cleaned all the junk that was found during the scan and my phone really started working a lot faster afterwars. I mean, I literally had about 230GB of junk stored on my phone so thatās A LOT of junk that was messing with the RAM and taking my phoneās free space. I also noticed that my battery wasnāt draining as quickly anymore (probably because there were less files in my phone now). šš§¹
Conclusion - Would I recommend Speedy Clean App?
So, in conclusion, the app works pretty well (once you pay) and itās definitely something that every iPhone user could benefit from. š¤·š¼āāļø However, I am not sure it really pays off to pay a monthly subscription for something that you wonāt be using every day. I would much rather recommend that you get a lifetime access which is $45. It may look like a lot, but in the long run itās a lot cheaper than paying about $10 every month for something you will use every few months. š¤·š¼āāļø
An alternative I can recommend is the Smart Cleaner app which costs about $6 for a monthly subscription, so itās a little cheaper that Speedy Clean. It also has a lot more 5 star reviews and itās available for both Android and iPhone users.
