Im back today with another post related to all skincare things for y’all! This month spotlight I’d like to dedicated to this Korean skincare brand that is still quite new and unfamiliar to a majority of our US audience but it’s slowly generating hype in the skincare world, that is Beauty Of Joseon!
Beauty of Joseon is a skincare brand that is inspired by the beauty of People from the Joseon Dynasty in ancient Korea. Women from the Joseon dynasty focused on creating a clean, clear skin canvas rather than playing with flashy and colorful makeup. The brand interprets and translates this lifestyle into their skincare products that focus on combining the magic of traditional herbs called Hanbang with a twist of scientifically-backed up modern ingredients.
In this video I got 3 products from BOJ that I recently purchased and still in the process of testing out for myself, but it’s working pretty nicely and I like it a lot so why not introduce them to more of you, maybe you’ll find your new holy grail in here. Another selling point is they’re all have pretty affordable price tag so you won’t have to worry about breaking the bank for new skincare! Alrighty, let’s get into it:
- Beauty of Joseon Green Plum AHA Bubble Toner ( 150ml, $15): As the video show, this is a toner with quite strange formie texture that you usually see in cleanser! It takes a little time to get used how it was made, but upon using it I could feel the instant hydration and calming effect it gives me. Enriched with 25% Freshly-picked Green plum water & 3% Glycolic Acid (AHA), it gently exfoliate my skin without overly drying it out but also smells amazing ( like I’m in a spa! 🧖). Eventho it is foamy, when you tap it out on your skin you could literally hear the sounds of the water bubbles burst which is always so fun to hear, it’s easily spread and also dries down pretty nicely and fresh! Makes my face feels really clean! Just used this for a couple days but I enjoy the instant effect it gives me, but for the long term we’ll just have to see about that! 🌞🌞 this is a solid 7/10💓
- Glow Serum Propolis+Niacinamide (30ml, $17): This yellow color serum is pretty thick as you can see but so far it did a great job at helping my other acne fighting products and did a great job at ensuring I was not left with hyperpigmentation after a pimple had healed. In the past I didn’t archive great result with other propolis serum but with this my skin was left with an instant nice and healthy glow ( possibly the combination with niacinemide helps!). However, this works best when incorporated with other acne fighting products rather than using alone, because I noticed one I had ran out of my salicylic acid serum some pimples started popping up. I do think that it is very effective at helping other acne fighting products to become more effective with its slight anti-inflammatory effects and helps ensure your skin glowing and not left with dark spots when a pimple heals! ⭐️⭐️ I rated this 7.5/10💓
- Calming serum – Green tea + panthenol (30ml, $17): this liquid product is one of the most well known from the brand! As the name suggests, this serum is so gentle and non-irritating. Green tea is a great ingredient helping with inflammatory too so it is great to use every day paired with any other product but this absolutely saved my skin when I got a bit too excited with the chemical peels and my skin was sensitised due to over-exfoliation ( super oily acne prone girls would get this lol! 🥲). Upon applying, I immediately see less redness and my skin feels soft and bouncy. However, I do wish the bottle were bigger ( same goes with the Glow serum tbh), but since you really only need 2-3 drops for your whole face itll last a long time. For my oily skin, it works when pairing with other products to sooth inflammation and reduce acne, but I can also see this might works for dry skin too for it’s calming effect and helps some dryness that might occurs to you! I rated this 8/10! 😍💓💓
