π₯ π₯¬ When it comes to salad dressing I tend to gravitate towards vinaigrettes because theyβre simple to make and Iβm addicted to the tang left on my tongue as Iβm enjoying them. Once in awhile I will use a blender to make a creamy tahini, hemp or even Caesar dressing but usually I prefer simply whisking vinegar and oil in a bowl with herbs.
My secret for salad dressing:My secret is using a dried salad dressing mix I buy from a local market here in LA that I just need to add vinegar and olive oil to. The closest product to it I found is this one from Thrive Market:
Organic Italian Seasoning | Thrive Market . Obviously fresh herbs are best in salad dressing but a dry mix can save you a little time when making a dressing from scratch. I prefer making my own dressing because I find store bought ones are too salty for my taste.
π₯ Below is my go-to dressing recipe for one small salad π₯

Step 1:
Using a third of a cup for measuring add olive oil, balsamic vinegar and red wine vinegar. So one quarter of this is red wine vinegar, another quarter is balsamic and half is the olive oil. So equal parts of both vinegars and double the amount in olive oil.

Step 2:
Add the juice of 1/4 of a lemon, 1 teaspoon of the salad dressing mix and then whisk this all together.

Step 3:
Pour onto the salad, mix, garnish with a little bit of black pepper and enjoy!
π₯ This dressing is almost like an Italian except it doesnβt have a sweetener and dijon. For my taste I like this dressing as is but feel free to adjust it. I usually start with romaine or arugula as the greens for my salad with vegan cheese, tomato, bell pepper, olives and maybe peperoncinis.

What kind of salad do you usually make?
