I've been feeling a little dull lately cooped up in my house (as many of you are too I'm sure!) so I searched the web for a beauty product with "pizzazz".
I came across this bottle of magic🌟 called Shimmering Dry Oil in the shade Pink Champagne by SOL Body. Being a ColourPop newbie I fell in love with all eyeshadows, lippies, and serums (oh, I bought way too much on their 30% off sale) but the shimmering dry oil was something I'd been dying to try.
First Impressions: This is a lightweight oil that has a multi-dimensional shimmer. The oil has a light pink tint while the actual shimmer is peachy gold. You gently shake the bottle to combine the pink oil and shimmer to get a nice, consistent formula to apply ( turn the bottle upside down to see some lava-lamp action 😍).
The 3fl oz size is HUGE, and I think I would have to cover my entire body with this oil a dozen times to use all the product! That being said, it's definitely worth the $15 as it will last you a pretty long time. It also smells like a tropical coconut vacation 🥥.
The color of the oil/shimmer together in the bottle is not what appeared on my skin. The oil is very sheer to begin with, and after soaking into my skin I was left with a very subtle pink glow with a lot of gold shimmer ✨. The only downside to the shimmer is that it transfers easily to clothing, bedding, etc. but it's a welcomed issue!
🔑Ingredients: I'll admit, seeing all the ingredients on the bottle made me kind of nervous to apply this to my skin 😨. So, I did some research on three ingredients I wanted to share with you.
Isononyl Isononanoate- ✔️ This is an emollient ester that gives this dry oil a non-greasy, rich, and creamy feeling on the skin. Not only does it feel good, but it protects from dry skin!
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis- ✔️ The official name for sweet almond oil nourishes skin with fatty acids while soothing and moisturizing.
Fragrance-❌This oil does smell really nice with a subtle coconut scent...but we don't really know what chemicals are in this fragrance. Not to mention, it may cause skin reactions for some people.
3 Ways to Use- You read that right...3 different ways!
One way I like to wear this shimmering dry oil is to apply it on a brush or my fingers and rub it into my collarbone, arms, and legs for an all-over body glow. Another way I used this was by dabbing a small amount onto my cheekbones and nose for some face highlight. Lastly, I put this in my hair! The oil reflected any light source around me and gave my hair a glossy, sparkly, sunkissed look💁♀️ (it also brought out some red in my brunette? Oo la la).
Final Thoughts- Pink Champagne shimmering dry oil is a shade that will look good on anyone and is extremely moisturizing on the skin. However, something you may want to consider is that the shimmer is very noticeable in person, but it doesn't translate as well in a photo. Still, this oil smells wonderful, turns anyone into a goddess, and gave me the "pizzazz" I was looking for!
