My skin has always been sensitive since the dawn of time. This is one of the reasons that I rarely wear makeup because even comedogentic products tend to irritate my skin.
When I first started getting acne, I tried doing everything to get rid of it including lemon juice, alcohol, excess amounts of tea tree oil, baking soda, and countless other irritating products that left my skin red, peeling, and with even more pimples.
I have EXPERIENCE with skin irritation and it is NOT fun 😬
One thing about sensitive skin is that everyone’s skin has different sensitivities. For me, I cannot use certain products with niacinamide or any products with benzoyl peroxide because they cause tiny pimples and my skin to become as red as a tomato 🍅
However, one common theme that I have also noticed about people with sensitive skin is that our skin LOVES moisture. Sensitive skin seems to much prefer being swaddled in a blanket or ceramides than exfoliated with scrubs.
I have shared some of my favorite tips and products for sensitive skin (swipe to see).
