Hey friends! I am so excited that I am able to sit down and write out a review about my Elf Superclarify Cleanser tonight!! The holiday season is notoriously busy and the last few weeks have proved that to be true! I love the Christmas/holiday season and I’m loving the business… I mean what’s not to love about parades, Christmas shopping, decorating, and planning holiday parties! 🥳 I’ve also had a lot going on with my Etsy earring shop and with doing pop up shops in some local coffee shops (my absolute favorite especially when Santa shows up 😉). What has the start of your holiday season looked like?
Tonight, I want to show of a product that has been an absolute blessing to me in a month that demands a lot financially! I can spend a lot of skincare but sometimes it’s nice to have a product that works but doesn’t break the bank. And this face wash from Elf met those needs perfectly!
What I look for in an affordable cleanser
I don’t usually have the same expectations for a cheap cleanser as I do for a higher end brand although Elf honestly lives up to the hype often! Here are my expectations when purchasing an affordable face wash:
* Affordability: this is sort of obvious but I usually look for something in the $10-$15 range.
* Clean Ingredients: I want a product that isn’t harmful to my skin and I avoid things like phthalates, parabens, and sulfates.
* Effectiveness: I want the products I use to actually works which is another obvious one. But if a product dries my skin out, doesn’t leave my face feeling clean, or causes/worsens breakouts I do not want to keep using it!
* Packaging: It’s definitely not as important but I love a well designed product! Typically if a product design doesn’t stand out to me, I won’t pick it up!
Q and A
Question: Is Elf a high quality brand?
Answer: We are often drawn to luxe products with luxe prices claiming that they will fix all our skin issues. Elf is a well known drug store brand but that doesn’t mean that it is lacking in quality! While I have tried products from them that I was not impressed with, most of their products are very good quality! So yes! Their products are usually high quality!
Question: What is Niacinamide?
Answer: Niacinamide is a form of Vitamin B3 commonly found in foods and used as a supplement and a medication. It is used in skincare to treat aging and acne. It can improve skin hydration by preventing much needed moisture from evaporating! Great for dry weather!
Question: What does the superclarify cleanser do?
Answer: This cleanser is designed to lift impurities and cleanse pores, smooth complexion, strengthens, moisturizes, tones, and clarifies skin!
How I tested…
I went from using a luxe brand to using this Elf cleanser so I was able to compare a high end and an affordable brand. I’ve been using the Elf cleanser morning and evening and noting the difference between the two cleansers!

This cleanser works just as well as the more expensive brand I was using. My skin looks fresh and healthy and feels wonderful! The foaming cleanse is satisfying and I love the scent.
