Before I get into talking about my bikini haul, I want to share some fun facts about bikinis with you ππ». They have such a fun and empowering history that will make you feel even better about wearing them π!
Why Is It Called a Bikini?
In 1946, the first bikini was introduced as a celebration of the end of World War II. Life felt fresh and fun again, and bikinis were a way to reflect that new free feeling.
The first one was made out of just 30 inches of fabric - a bra and two triangles tied with string for the bottom. It was the smallest swimsuit everπ₯΅!
The creator, Louis RΓ©ard, named the new bathing suit after Bikini Atoll. The Bikini Atoll is a coral reef in the Marshall Islands in the Pacific Ocean. What could be beachier than that βοΈ?
Is a Swimsuit a Bikini?
All bikinis are swimsuits, but not all swimsuits are bikinis. There are also one-pieces, tankinis, swim skirts, rashguards, and lots of other bathing suit options. However, the bikini is definitely one of the most popular and sexiest bathing suits for women π₯ π₯ π¦.
Who First Wore the Bikini?
When Louis RΓ©ard debuted the bikini, he needed to find the perfect model for it. He settled on a French former nude dancer, Micheline Bernardini. It was so risque for its time that he needed to find a model ready to bare it all π!
Zaful
The first bathing suits I tried on were from Zaful. These bikinis are super high quality for the price π°π°π°. They cost only about ten dollars each.

Textured Ribbed String Bikini Set - $9.34
I tried on the Textured Ribbed String Bikini Set in the burnt orange color. I love this bathing suit cause it feels super classy and simple β€οΈ. It's such a classic cut for a bikini.
I love the string ties on the bottoms and the top because it makes it a sexy bikini, and it's easy to avoid tan lines when you can just untie the top while you're lying down in the sun βοΈ.
The burnt orange color of this string bikini is so beautiful. It reminded me of a gorgeous summer sunset on the beach.
Ruched Keyhole Cheeky Bikini Set - $12.30
This set is a sexy black bikini that every girl should ownβ€οΈβπ₯.
The string tie bikini bottom is definitely cheeky, but they don't feel super revealing. Instead, they just feel a little flirty, and I love them.
The top is crazy with the lower criss-cross straps across my ribcage. Those might give me horrible tan lines π, but I just couldn't resist this uniquely sexy-looking swimsuit.
Textured Tie String Bikini Swimwear - $12.70
For this one, I didn't like the top that went with them. So I matched the black bikini bottom with a different top instead. I love how the look turned out, though, because the texture on these bottoms was really unique, and I love the shape.
Something I really like about the Zaful swimsuits is that they're really easy to mix and match. I feel like I get new bikini looks all summer long ππ.
White Fox
Next, I tried on three bikinis from White Fox. They're a little more expensive than Zaful at 20 to 30 dollars apiece. But I think that the price is totally worth it because they ship faster and they feel very high quality. I feel like I'll be wearing all three of these swimsuits for a long time.
Messina Bikini - $39
I love this bikini for July 4th weekend because of the really festive bright red color. I feel like I'll stand out like a firework while celebrating, and red is a color that always makes me feel hot β€οΈβπ₯βοΈ.
The bottoms for this swimsuit are a thong bikini style which I love. I feel like I really get to show off my assets in this swimsuitπ.
To be honest, the back of the top is really complicated, so I'm still figuring out how to tie it. But I feel like when I get it right, it's going to be really eye-catching and beautiful. I already feel really supported in this top.
Santa Monica Bikini Top - $39 and Kali Bottoms - $25
So I actually got this bikini top and this bikini bottom in two different colors. I decided to try them in a bright, hot pink πand a soft sky blue π¦. It turns out, I love them both!
Just like the Missina Bikini, these bottoms are super cheeky bikini thongs, but the top is really supportedππ». I also don't have to worry about arranging any complicated straps for these two bathing suits, which makes them perfect for a quick, impromptu beach trip.
I loved every single one of them. They made me feel so sexy and carefree.
