My fireplace and mantle needed a serious clean and refresh! Clutter, dust, old decor were all blah and not nice to look at. I like to decorate the mantle but keep it minimal and pleasing to the eye.
🌸 First I cleaned the mantle with Pledge, removing all old items
🌱 Next I arranged some white fresh flowers with greenery - one in a short vase and one in a tall. I like to have a mixture of heights for decor.
🌷 Lastly I added candles of different heights, sticking to a pink, white and green theme which already complements the artwork I chose for the area.
I always try to stick to the rule of odd numbers for decorating - 3 items grouped together, or five. I also try not to be “matchy matchy” - these rules help decor to be pleasing and relaxing to the eye.
