➡️What are the materials used in the bag?
The Marc Jacobs Bubble bag is made of Saffiano leather, which is textured leather, with a cross-hatch finish achieved by treating the leather with a specialised stamping machine. The full-grain leather is further finished with a wax treatment. As a result, the leather is highly scratch resistant, durable and exceptionally easy to keep clean.
➡️Is the bag stylish? Yes! I like its simple, versatile and understated elegant style
➡️How much things can it carry? It can carry your basic essentials like wallet, car keys, sanitizer, little makeups, cellphone, wipes, and other small stuff.
➡️Retail price? It retails for 259 USD right now at Amazon, but the only available is in white color. It was 350 USD but sadly, it is now discontinued from the Marc Jacobs website and from their physical stores.
➡️Is it durable? I’ve had the bag for around 3 years already and used it daily for several months before. It still held up well with proper care and maintenance. The leather is still good as new, no fading or cracks visible. However, I lost one of the rubber nubs of the drawstring and could not find any replacement. The bag is still good and functions well despite the flaw.

👎CONS OF THE MARC JACOBS BACKPACK:
❌There is a weak spot, which is the rubber knob at the end of the drawstring, that may get lost and ruin the overall aesthetic of the bag. I hated it when I lost one of them! Still searching how to remedy it, maybe take it to a bag repair shop? Ugh!
❌Price may still be relatively expensive for average mini backpack.
❌May need extra TLC for the leather maintenance and to take care not to scratch it. Nothing a good wipe and leather conditioner may fix!

❌Cons: with regards to aesthetic, this backpack looks more casual because of the refined pebbled leather, which is a kind of leather that has a rough texture. It is also not convertible into a crossbody bag.
🧐It is a nice leather and stylish backpack that will not break the bank. It looks more casual though because of the straps.

✅Pros: Of course, it’s Prada.Lol. Seriously, very elegant and chic style and cute mini size. I think this is also convertible into a crossbody bag with its adjustable and detachable straps.
❌Cons: VERY expensive for the same material, which is Saffiano leather. It is said to be made from Vitello leather, which is from calf skin, known for being very durable and waterproof.
🧐This is a no brainer that for bag collectors and luxury bag enthusiasts, they would choose the Prada. But girl, I think I need to sell my kidneys (even my soul) for that! Maybe upon retirement, someday lol! I’d still choose the MJ Bubble for same material and versatility.
3️⃣Michael Kors Rhea mini logo backpack
Price: 328 USD
Rhea Mini Logo Backpack
✅Pros: It has almost the same price and features, difference is that it is made from pebbled leather, which is also a durable type of leather. It is also convertible and can be made into a backpack or crossbody bag.
❌Cons: It is a tad smaller than the MJ Bubble and straps may also be shorter because it fits snug on the bag, based on the reviews.
🧐This may be the best contender for the MJ Bubble Backpack because of its versatile style and cute size. It has almost the same price and is more easily available than the MJ Bubble Backpack, which is now sadly discontinued.

I love this backpack despite losing one of the drawstring rubber nubs. I am hunting for other colors, but would also be open to try other similar styles from other brands! i usually find great deals of Marc Jacobs backpacks from their outlet stores and if you don’t mind second hands, Poshmark and Mercari has some great deals even for discontinued styles. You just have to be careful for fakes.
➡️How do you know if a Marc Jacobs bag is real?
I bought mine from the outlet store and it has a card and receipt to prove its authenticity. Moreover, the leather and stitching should feel high quality and even. The hardware should be even in color with a nice logo imprint without faded or poorly written letters.
➡️How shoud you properly take care of your Marc Jacobs bag?
For me, I just consciously stay aware when using it like not carelessly dropping it or swishing it around so as not to scratch or damage it lol. I also wipe any stains or dirt immediately with a wet wipe and put a leather conditioner and paper tissues before storing it to absorb moisture.
