Back again and this time with a little eyeliner 101 crash course for you! We all want the perfect winged liner right?!? Well to create the perfect wing for your style I wanted to go through the different liners that are out there.
KOHL or KAJAL liners:
These are your basic liners. They will have a more “wet” consistency meaning they are the easiest to work with for your smudged smokey liner looks. The downside to these liners is they will transfer and wear off the easiest.
These are your middle of the road liners. They have more staying power and durablity than your kohl liners. You can use these to create smokey winged liner looks as well, BUT they dry down fast so you do have to work quickly with them.
These are my personal favorite and the most popular to work with when doing wing liner. There are different tips when choosing which liquid liner to work with. You will have felt tip or brush tip liners and its all a matter of preference when choosing which one works for you. They take a bit to dry down but also have the longest staying power of all the liners. My personal favorite liquid liner is the KVD Tattoo Eyeliner; the tip is angled for wings so sharp they can cut.
WATER ACTIVATED liners:
Also known as HYDRO or CAKE liners, you will see these used with more vibrant, graphic or bright editoral winged liner looks. These liners are growing in popularity for their ease of use; you only need a liner brush and some water to activate them. They also come in a variety of colors/finishes; pastels, metallics, neon and even UV activated colors. While they dry down quickly and have staying power be mindful of weather conditions or if you are prone to sweating since they are water activated they wash off very easily.
And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed this crash course and I cannot wait to see the winged liner looks you will create. So feel free to explore the different textures, have fun and remember... It’s just makeup, it washes off! #wingedliner #Eyeliner #wingedeyeliner @BEAUTYPOP
