I recently received Kosas’ Tinted Face Oil. I kept my expectations fairly low—it claims to provide light coverage, and as someone with combo/oily skin I was wary of it making my skin look and feel excessively oily. But I was actually totally surprised! The face oil successfully covered up all the redness in my skin and gave me a dewy, natural finish.
The bottle looks small, but you only need a few drops for coverage and I appreciate that you can take this with you when you’re on the go. I also couldn’t find a shade that matched my skin perfectly based on description, but shade 03 worked great for me even though it’s meant for skin with cooler undertones (mine is pink).
I did my full skincare routine and applied only a light moisturizer to minimize oiliness. Instructions recommend you apply 2-4 drops, so I went with 3 and applied them directly to my face: on my nose and both cheeks. The bottle has a small shaker in it to make sure ingredients aren’t separated when you apply it—I love this feature.
I blended the face oil in with a beauty blender and added about half a drop afterwards using just my fingers. I was SO surprised by how effective the coverage was, especially because the oil is so thin! I would still categorize this skin tint as light, but for light coverage they really didn’t mess around! My rosacea was totally covered up and my skin looked even and natural. Rather than looking super oily, it gave my skin a healthy glow.
Kosas Tinted Face Oil is perfect for days when you just want a little bit of coverage to look healthy and put together for zoom meetings and more. You can wear it alone or with your usual contour and blush, and trust me—you’ll look great! Personally I don’t even use a setting powder with this (although I will sometimes use some setting spray) and by the end of the day my skin still looks great. I don’t know how well this would stay on when you’re out and about and pulling your face mask on and off, but for low impact days this is the perfect product.
As an ingredients nerd, I want to briefly highlight some of their ingredients before I sign off. This tinted face oil has a short list of great ingredients, including avocado oil (which it smells like), meadowfoam oil, rosehip seed oil, jojoba oil, and red raspberry oil. Meadowfoam and rosehip are two of my FAVORITE face oils period, so I’m over the moon with this formula. It’s hard to find better options out there for people like me obsessed with skincare!
I’m giving this baby 5/5 stars! I’m honestly delighted with this product and will definitely be restocking in the future. #foundation #SensitiveSkin #Cleanbeauty
