👋 Hey there PrismPop Beauty's! Recently I've been wanting to try Japanese Skincare products more and more. I got super excited when PrismPop offered to send me a Japanese Skincare product to test out and review for you all! I had never even heard of the brand before so I did some research and wow do I have some interesting things to talk about now!
The brand I'm talking about is Sensai Cosmetics. It's a Japanese company that believes in and practices "Saho". Now I'm pretty sure you're wondering what that is so keep reading on and I'll tell you all about it and my experience with this product down below!
🤔 What is "Saho"? -
SENSAI Skincare Saho is a skincare ritual inspired by the Saho code of etiquette for the Japanese tea ceremony. It helps to achieve flawless silky skin by Double Cleansing, Double Moisturising and Double Application. A process designed to be practised the same way, every day, for immaculate results. They believe that by repeating this calming and thoughtful method, you can discover the optimum way to achieve SILK SKIN, celebrating the beauty of life, enlightened deep from within.
🧪 My Testing Process! -
• Review is based off of 10 days of use.
• I used it twice a day.
• Morning and nights, right after cleansing.
🌸 Sensai Cosmetics - Lotion 2 (moist)
[ 125ml / $55.75 ]
✔️ What it does! - (from the brand itself)
Ideal for Step 1 of Double Moisturising, this lotion begins the total anti‑ageing skincare routine by comfortably replenishing moisture reserves and preparing the skin to be receptive to subsequent treatment.
🙋♀️ My Personal Experience! -
This "Lotion" took a minute for me to get used to. Normally we use a moisturizer as the last step of our Skincare routine but not this one. It's supposed to be used right after cleansing and before the rest of your routine. I actually like it. I've noticed a difference in the texture of my skin and my skin looks brighter too. Check out my Pro's and Con's list down below!
🥳 Pro's! -
• It's thin and lightweight. It has the same consistency as an Emulsion. It's thin but slightly milky.
• It absorbs quickly without leaving any film or oily residue behind.
• It feels like it lightly moisturizes. It really does seem to make my other products work better.
• It made my complexion look smooth and even. My skin looks brighter too.
• It comes in really luxurious packaging. The jar is glass and heavy-duty. It's actually really beautiful.
• It's super Hydrating and Soothing. It reduced the redness in my skin noticeably.
• It's refreshing and replenishing. It's really great for dry or really dry skin.
🚫 Con's! -
• It's a bit expensive.
• It has a cheap soap or cheap perfume scent. It's kinda strong but fades fairly quickly.
• If you don't put anything over it, it can leave your skin feeling tacky a bit.
💡 Fun Fact! -
Sensai Cosmetics recommends when you're using their products to practice Saho, you should always do a 2 step face massage. Massage around cheeks, eyes, forehead and down to mouth. Repeat several times. Then Press skin for several seconds in five separate places between chin and forehead.
🔎 How to Apply
Apply generously mornings and evenings. Follow with emulsion and/or cream according to skin type. For best results, apply 3ml of Sensai Cosmetics Lotion at first until you know what your skin needs.
📇 Key Ingredients! -
👉 Niacinamide - Niacinamide reduces inflammation , which may help ease redness from eczema, acne, and other inflammatory skin conditions. Minimizes pore appearance too.
👉 Nasturtium - Nasturtium contains important plant compounds to skin and scalp health, particularly vitamin A (beta-carotene), vitamin C, vitamin E, and flavonoids. These superhero compounds work to protect the skin, scalp and hair from the damage of the sun's rays, as well as pollution, and other environmental bad guys.
👉 Wild Yam Extract - Wild yam's saponins have combined antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial properties. Diosgenin fights collagen and restores skin cells. All of these factors could possibly help skin become better moisturized, healthier, and more radiant.
👉 Zostera Marina Extract - Zostera Marina extract, it hydrates dry and fatigued skin making it look more plump, dewy, and elastic. Consider it a fabric softener for your face.
✅️ My Conclusion! -
So all in all, I've got mixed feelings about this product. I really like it and it works well. I definitely don't like the scent. It just has an old cheap soap or perfume scent. My other issue is the fact that if you're not wanting to Double Moisturize, this type of product isn't really worth it. I can say that if you're struggling with dry skin, you should definitely check this out! Or if you're into Double Moisturising too. I won't be using it any further at the moment but I still definitely recommend it. 👌
