WHAT IS VITAMIN C?
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects the skin from UVA damage, stimulates collagen production and lifts away any dark spots or marks revealing brighter skin underneath. Whilst consuming the ingredient helps protect your body, applying it as a topical treatment can help the skin. As a superior brightening ingredient, Vitamin C works by inhibiting the production of tyrosinase to help the skin achieve an even tone with reduced signs of pigmentation. Vitamin C is also a powerful antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals, to help support skin health and encourage collagen production for a younger looking complexion. Vitamin C should be an essential in your skincare regimen for both brightening and healing properties.
I usually use my go to Vitamin C serum from Timeless Skin Care which is great for both its potency and price point. But I was gifted this $155.00 Vitamin C serum from 111 Skin and was excited to put it to the test!
The crystal-clear formula has no discernible smell, and absorbs quickly and easily (which is extra-important for a product that should always be topped off with sunscreen).
I have been applying the serum directly to my skin in the mornings but the directions on the packaging state that you could also add a few drops to your moisturizer.
I do use other products to target my sun damage/hyperpigmentation but since introducing this vitamin C serum into my routine a couple of weeks ago I do feel like my dark spots are fading even more quickly than usual.
I think what is unique about this serum is the inclusion of licorice root, which inhibits the production of an enzyme needed to produce melanin (pigment) in the skin, helps remove excess melanin and has anti-inflammatory benefits
**Bonus** Unlike many other similar ingredients, it's a good option for pregnant women looking for a safe way to treat melasma.
Another highlight for me has been that I love how it doesn’t leave my skin feeling sticky the way that most traditional vitamin c serums do.
Even though this is a much higher price point for a vitamin C serum I am really loving the product and I may have to splurge and purchase again once this bottle is done! 🤑 #Skincare #Beauty #Vitaminc #Skincareroutine #skincareobsession
