"Lipstick can't solve all problems, but it's a pretty great start."
With the coming age of Liquid Lipsticks--their convenience of staying put all day transformed the generic lippy completely. More & more women have reduced their application as newer liquid formulas emerged.
You honestly can't blame them; Matte just *feels* better, looks better and doesn't transfer as quickly as cream based lipsticks do...
BUT I have to be bold & say that I miss applying those cream sticks!
It's hard to explain but nothing can compare to rolling up a lipstick tube or hearing that *snap* of the cap. The touching up in mirrors or scrapping the remnants out with sharp tools because you want to get every last bit! Lol Good o' days of cosmetics!
So, finding a lippy that combines both in one nice package really interested me. That is what I found in Joah Beauty "Jelly Bae" Lipstick!
These elegant tubes are created with a lightweight gel-based formula that delivers long-lasting wear with a velvety finish. Non-drying, wax-free & best of all--MATTE!
"Jelly Bae" has such a versatile application--when worn straight from the tube, the pigment is rich and bold. You can blot it down to create a fade or gradient. It can be built up using different colors or it can be reduced to a simple stain.
A downside--When it dries down, the color tends to stain the skin. So, if you are planning to wear anything other than their nudes--make sure you stay away from mistakes or you'll end up with a hue halo around your lips! It takes DAYS to rub off, trust me!
My shade here is called Boothang, which is a bruised burgundy/deep red. I love wearing this color in the fall, brings a bit of warmth to my cold pale skin. The dry down isn't harsh on my lips either, like most liquid lipsticks tend to do. It doesn't crack or crease but rather, creates a barrier on the lips that retain the moisture.
With these lipsticks you definitely don't need a lip liner! (Which is something I personally love about this product.) You will not be seeing any feathering around the lips with this lipstick! It's a thick formula that glides perfectly across the lips and can even be outlined using a small lip brush.
They have so many colors, mostly of the red toned variety. I wish they'd do more pinks/corals but I can't complain with a formula this great!
All in all, a perfect lippy for Fall! Xoxo
