Haleakalā is a dormant shield volcano in Maui, Hawaii, and it is such an amazing place! I wanted to make this video to show off the beauty of the environment, but it is even better in person :)
This national park is like an entire different environment than the rest of the island, and even within it, the weather changes all the time, from hot and sunny ☀️ to cold and rainy🌧, and sometimes immensely foggy where you can barely see past a few meters! But because of the fog and the rain, many stunning rainbows 🌈 form!
It is such an amazing place though, and the scenery is so beautifully unique! There is a plant species called the silversword that only grows at Haleakalā and blooms once in its lifetime. Unfortunately, this video was not taken during blooming season and I only have a shot of a dying plant :(
The hiking paths are fun and they provide great exercise! If you decide to come here, make sure to bring durable shoes that you don’t mind getting worn/dirty!
