Chocolate Protein Muffins - Treat yourself with a high protein dark chocolate muffin 2022
Yes, TJ’s did it again.
So as you all know I have the sweetest tooth in town, but at the same time I love taking care of what I put into my body. I cheat once in a while but on a daily basis I look for products made with high quality ingredients, that are a good protein source and the most important thing that are tasty and I can actually enjoy. Life is too short to eat tasteless food.
During one of my weekly trips to my favorite place aka Trader Joe's I found the Protein Dark Chocolate Muffin a microwavable, single-serving muffin mix that is also gluten-free, I envisioned this being a nice afternoon treat here and there. A treat that tastes, and warms the heart like a home made chocolate cake. It is sweet, fluffy an has a rich chocolate favor. To be completely honest the chocolate isn't that dark, but offers a respectable richness without being overly sweet. The real winning bit is there's a small handful of chocolate chips sprinkles in that got a little melty but still have some bite - you get one of those, you've won! It's really, and again pretty surprisingly, good. i'd eat it again for sure.
The best part? Is is so easy to make. You literally just add water, stir, put it in the microwave and it's ready to enjoy! Here are the details of the product.

- 270 calories
- 12g of protein
- gluten free
- Like all Trader Joe’s products, this mix does not contain artificial flavors, preservatives, or colorings.
CONS: What I don't like about the product🤨
- 11g of fat
- 410mg of sodium
- This item is labelled gluten-free, but does contain milk, egg, and coconut, so avoid it if those are concerns for you.
I love the product, the taste and the amount of protein. Unfortunately you can only get it at TJ's and the amount of fat and sodium are elevated to be considered a "healthy" product.
Let me know if you try it or if you can recommend me another option.
