Every year I come to this vegan street fair in North Hollywood that’s either in the spring or summer that has every single kind of vegan food you can imagine. 🍿🧋🍟🍕🌮🍔🧇 Everything from deep fried macaroni and cheese to Philly cheesesteaks are here. This festival caters towards people who are vegan for ethical reasons versus those who are for their health so it tends to have more comfort and junk food.
This year I came as a gluten-free vegan which is a diet I have been trying recently and surprisingly there were great options. The gluten-free mozzarella sticks were especially impressive but the ceviche I spilled in the first shot was my favorite. The palm of heart “ceviche” was seasoned well and reminds me of real ceviche but not as fishy as real ceviche which I like. There were quite a few pop ups from Las Vegas here which doesn’t surprise me because I know Las Vegas is a gold mine for vegan options!
It runs events all year but this special weekend event is their biggest one of the year and I think the biggest vegan festival that exists.
There’s also a similar event company called Vegan Playground that hosts vegan food festivals in LA throughout the year as well. You can find out more information at https://www.veganstreetfair.com and https://veganplayground.com.
When vlogging events like this it’s important to have the right gear which is why this time I brought my Sony camera. You can of course easily use your phone to film but I like to take my Sony camera with me because I feel like it has better image stabilization which is important in preventing footage from looking too shaky.
📷 When shopping for a camera for Vlogging it’s important to look for one that: 📷
➡️ is compact
➡️ has image stabilization
➡️ has a flip out viewfinder screen so you can see yourself when filming and easily make adjusts
➡️can accommodate lenses with fast processors
➡️ can easily accommodate an attachable microphone
➡️ can quickly and easily focus on the subject so you don’t have to worry when filming outside
➡️ has a battery that lasts a while day so you don’t need to carry multiple batteries with you
➡️ is user friendly so your friend helping you film doesn’t struggle using it
Canon VS Sony
My two favourite camera brands at least for video are Canon and Sony. The new Canon and Sony mirrorless cameras that have been released in the past 4 years have been phenomenal. Canon turns to be known for having amazing color tones while Sony tends to be known for having higher quality resolution and focus. Both camera brands have been getting better and better each year with their newer models. The camera I used for this video is the Sony A7C which is perfect for travelling and for filming really anything else I need.
The link for it is here:

The lens I used to film this is the Sony G Master 24 mm 2.8 F prime lens:

I have two other cameras and two other lenses. So far I haven’t filmed an entire camera collection and in depth review of them but will at some point so keep your eyes peeled. 👀 If you have questions about filming then leave them in the comments below and I can answer to the best of my ability. 😄👍
