Hey PrismPop Family! 🤗✨ I know summer is ending, but the mermaid hair trend has just begun!
I'm on a mission to find the easiest ways to get mermaid-worthy hair 🦄 without causing damage to your hair or your bank account. There are lots of options, but the Bed Head Waver is one of the best I've found yet!
Today I’m reviewing the Bed Head “A Wave We Go” Adjustable Deep Waver! Let's take a look at some of the things I love about this hot tool for hair styling 💕.
What Is the Bed Head Waver?
The Bed Head A Wave We Go Hair Waver is a hot tool for hair styling that can deliver a variety of wave styles. It's good for tight crimping, mermaid waves, old Hollywood glamor, finger waves, and more!
The cool thing about the Bed Head Waver is that it has different settings, not only for heat but for the size of the barrel too. This makes for even more customizable styles. The smaller you make the barrel, the tighter your waves will be.
I purchased this Waver at Ulta but it is also available on Amazon and Target. Make sure that you check prices at a couple of different places to make sure that you're getting the best deal 💵.
Features of this product:
☑️Multi-heat seating.
☑️adjustable barrel size
☑️Perfect to use on all kinds of hair length
How Do the Waves Turn Out?
Whether you want tousled, crimped, loose, defined or all the above... there is no limit to your style 😱 . The Bed Head A Wave We Go Adjustable Deep Waver lets you take control of your waves by rotating the adjustable barrel to the exact level of wave you want.
My Criteria and Why I Love It
Whenever I review a hair styling product, I want to make sure it's great on a number of levels. It has to be easy to use. The style has to hold all day.
It has to be relatively healthy on my hair. And it has to have lots of options for styles ❤️.
Luckily, the Bed Head Waver is pretty much perfect in all of those regards. Here are some of the reasons that I love this Bed Head Waver.
Adjustable Barrel Size
The adjustable barrel size on the Bed Head waver is really unique. Previously, if you wanted to get different wave sizes, you need to buy different wavers. But a simple twist of the dial to change the setting couldn't be easier.
Multiple Heat Settings
Multiple heat settings are so important when it comes to effective, hair-safe tools. While some people require some higher heat to style their hair, I like to use low heat to prevent damage.
For that reason, I used the 280-degree temperature on my hair. This was just enough heat to have beautiful, long-lasting waves without risking any damage to my hair.💕
No Frizz
One sign that the Bed Head Waver was gentle on my hair was that it left no frizz! I, of course, started off the process with a heat protectant spray to make sure that my strands were safe from damage.
Sometimes, wavers or crimpers can leave hair looking a little frizzy and dry, but the tourmaline ceramic technology made it so that my hair looks sleek and shiny even with the pretty waves!
Super Safe!
When you're in rush to get out the door after getting ready, it's easy to forget something important like unplugging your hot tools. Then, your whole night is ruined wondering if you did.
Luckily, when you become a Bed Head wave artist, you don't have to worry about that. The waver automatically shuts itself off after
a certain period of time.
The Cons
I've never used a waver before this one, so it took me a little while to get the hang of it 😞. My first few waves didn't look as good as the later ones. I started as close to the root as possible and slowly worked my way down in sections.
But once I did get a hang of it, it was pretty easy to use. It's just a little time-consuming because you have to move down each strand of hair.
How Does the Competition Compare?
It wouldn't be a fair review if I didn't include the competition. But honestly, the other wavers I've tried can barely hold a candle to the Bed Head waver. Let's look at some of the options in a variety of price ranges.
Amika High Tide Waver
While this waver is more expensive than the Bed Head waver, I think the Bed Head version offers a better value for its price.
PROS: The benefits of the Amika High Tide Waver are that it heats up very quickly and that it automatically shuts off. You can also switch out the barrel size on the Amika waver, but it isn't as simple of a process.
While it heats up faster than the Bed Head waver, I didn't mind the little extra wait that I could use to apply my heat protectant. Remember, the Bed Head waver also shuts off automatically, which is a huge plus if you get scatterbrained while getting ready like me 😉.
CONS: Unfortunately, the Amika High Tide Waver doesn't have the highest heat setting that the Bed Head version does. So if your hair has trouble holding a curl, this is not the right option for you😞.
Bondi Boost Wave Wand
The Bondi Boost Wave Wand is another popular choice, and I will say that it does deliver a very sleek, frizz-free wave.
PROS: It has super big waves which make it faster to style with, but those big waves can have a downside too.
CONS: This waver is sooooo heavy🥵! Even if it promises a faster style, it's too hard for me to maneuver it regularly.
The other problem is that it only displays its temperature in Celsius. There's no way to change the display to Fahrenheit, so if you aren't used to that measurement you may get confused.
Conair Double Ceramic Triple-Barrel Waver
This waver from Conair is recommended to people who want to try out the deep wave style without committing to a higher-priced piece of equipment. Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for in this case.
PROS: The small barrel is good for shorter hair.
CONS: Unlike the Bed Head version, you can't switch out the barrel. If you want a different style down the road, you'll have to pay for another waver.
The dial for setting the temperature can also be tricky and slips out of place while you're styling your hair🙅🏽♀️.
Romantic Waves With Ease
I absolutely loved using the Bed Head Waver, and I know that it's going to become a hairstyling staple for me. I love knowing that I can always do a cute mermaid or Hollywood glam wave style whenever I want. It makes it so much easier to do with a tool like this.
Plus, I know that the ceramic coating and low-temperature options will keep my hair healthy in the long run.
