I can't even begin to tell y'all how excited I am to be chosen for this PrisimPop tester bag! I had my fingers crossed and said my prayers! I have long sought products that align with my values and made me look and feel my best! As soon as I heard about The Organic Skin Co, I knew I would be in LOVE at first use! Not only does this company make wonderful products that are affordable and premium quality, they have a social conscious! But when I saw that the company's tag line "Look Good, Feel Good, Do Good" was so close to my own line, "Look Good- Feel Good", I was ALL IN!
Before I start talking about these amazing products, I absouletly need to talk about The Organic Skin Co. or TOSC and address their incredible values and ethics. While this is not something people really think about when buying makeup and skincare, TOSC has revolutionized the way makeup is made, packaged and sold. The companies pride in their products really shines through, and it all starts with how the formulas are made!
TOSC uses a process called SUPERCRITICAL EXTRACTION to create formulas that are clean and pure. Instead of using chemical solvents to extract plants nutrients, they use plants own natural gas (CO2) and low temps to extract every last bit of pure goodness from the plants. That means that we get all the essential oils and water and fat soluble substances the plants have to offer. All the good stuff is used in their formulas at much higher concentrations than other products. Why is this important? Good question! It's important because not only do these formulas look and feel amazing, but they are truly AMAZING for our skin!!
I'll get into some more good stuff in a moment about TOSC and their committment to us (the customer) and the planet, but first...let's check out some swatches!
O.M.G! Are those colors ๐Gorgeous๐ or what?!
I need to talk a little more about how TOSC gets these wonderful extracts in the first place. The company name has ORGANIC right in it's title, so where do the ingredients come from? TOSC sources many of the ingredients they use from community farms in India. The organic farming practices have helped revitalize rural towns, villages and small communities that were threatened by the over use of chemicals, pesticides and fertilizers. (TheOrganicSkinCo.com) They actually know and have great relationships with the farming partners and are amazed at the love they have for their land. This is another thing that is incredibly important because this ensures that we are putting only the absolute BEST ingredients on our faces! The all around โค LOVE โค and care that goes into these formulas is just amazing! There are a few more incredible things that TOSC is doing that revolutionized the skincare and makeup industry that I'll mention later, but I can't wait to tell you about what was in my bag!!
The first product I want to tell you about is the one that I was literally DYING to try! I knew right away that this would be heavenly, and I was right! I give you...
TASK FORCE NINE - Calendula and Tumeric Cream
This incredible formula is jam packed with NINE ingredients that our skin wants, needs and loves! Aloe vera, jojoba seed oil, lemon peel oil, calendula, turmeric, rosemary and honeysuckle combine together to create a cream that is insanely luxurious and pure and simple at the same time!
This magic potion for your skin comes in a 1.7fl. oz. squeeze tube that is safety sealed. The scent of this cream is so incredibly delicious and fresh. Now, let me be very clear...there is no fragrance added to this formula, making it perfect for those with sensitive skin. What you smell is real, pure ingredients. I can only describe the scent as warm and soft.
Task Force Nice has a wonderful, dense consistency. It glides over the skin well and absorbs very well into the skin. There is absolutely no greasy or heaviness left on the skin, rather it is smooth, soft and supple. My skin feels super hydrated, very clam and it has a firmness that has been lost for sometime. My pores are almost invisible and because of the continuous and rich hydration, my fine lines are less noticeable. I haven't experienced a single pimple or clogged pore either.
One of the best feelings ever was when I used Task Force Nine after a day of yardwork. Even though I applied my SPF, the long day I spent working in the hot May sun left me with a painful and hideous sunburn. After my shower, I knew the only thing to calm my skin would be this cream! Immediately, I felt the burning subside and my skin was nourished and healing. The next day, my burn was gone! (Even though I know I have the magic solution now, I'll never garden without better protecting my skin!) When I say this cream is a lifesaver, I really mean it!
I'm a total skincare junkie. I've tried all types of products, creams, home made concoctions, yet I have never used a product quite like this. When I first heard about Task Force Nine, I knew it was going to be good but I was blown away at just how GREAT this formula is! Mark my words- I will NEVER be without this cream!
O.K. So TOSC definitely has what it takes to make some killer skincare! This made me even more excited to see how the makeup is! Next, let's talk about the shadows!
Two of the three beautiful swatches you see above are products of these wonder pots! Even the name is business! The Eyes Have It - Cream Eye Shadow. These pots of organic goodness are every shadow lovers dream! Like the rest of the TOSC formulas, these too are cruelty free, vegan, organic and 100% natural. I'm blown away at how pigmented and saturated the colors are!
I absolutely love having these gorgeous pots in my makeup bag! The .08oz pot has an elegant and classy base design. A wonderfully crafted wooden top screws on to keep the creamy shadow protected. When you run out of product, no need to throw away this beautiful container as TOSC also sells just the refill tin!
I applied the shadows any and every which way I could- with a primer (and surprisingly I found that primer isn't all that necessary with these shadows! They stay put without!), without a primer (I like the smooth feeling of the shadow directly on my lid! My shadow stays put, even on my hooded lids! This is some good stuff!), with a synthetic brush and I went right in with my finger. The brush works great when you really want a clean, sharp line or you want to get into detail. A clean finger works well too as you can really pack on some pigment this way!
A great thing about these shadows is that they blend very well! You can create incredible looks with these bold colors. If you would like just a hint of color, just use a bit of product. You can also go dramatic (and fun!) easily by adding more product to your brush. I was very impressed at how versatile these shadows are! The best part...NO FALLOUT! Gone are the days of dusty cheeks or holding tissue on our cheeks!
These gorgeous pots have a wonderful shimmer to them as well. Unlike a lot of other cream shadows that have shimmer, these feel incredibly smooth on your lid. There is nothing that feels grainy, rough, or to scrape the delicate skin on the eye lids. I'll also note that the shimmer too stays in place. You won't be catching flecks of blinding light on your lashes using this formula! It stays put, right where you intended it to be.
The two fantastic colors I received are Greenstone - an earthy but bright true green with shimmer. This really brought out the green in my eyes. I had a lot of fun playing with the color saturation on my lids. Silhouette - a stunning charcoal shimmer. Perfect for a smoky eye look or day to night. This was also fun to experiment with the saturation and combining with other colors.
I love that these pots stay put on my hooded lids! They feel amazing, look amazing and stay put!
Last but not least, one of the most versatile products in my bag is the CHEEKY LIPS Blush and Lip Pod in shade SPICE.
Before we get into the review, I want to mention a few more things I totally ๐๐๐๐๐ about TOSC. Notice the bottom of the package? It says, "You just planted one tree". How did I just plant a tree when I'm putting my face on? Well, TOSC is (justly) very concerned with deforestation. According to their website, we are cutting down 15 BILLION trees per year! That is a scary figure! To think of all the beautiful species (plant, animal, insects) that displaces breaks my heart! ๐ But buying TOSC products actually HELPS the planet! With their One Product, One Tree promise, every time we buy one of their products, they will in turn plant a tree! They partnered with Eden Reforestation Projects and hope to plant a minimum of 100 million trees a year! Talk about a social conscious! What other makeup and skincare can you buy and know that your doing something really great for the planet?! Count me in!
Back to my review...
I'm beyond impressed with the versatility, wearability and quality of the Cheeky Lip Pods! I'm usually a powder blush kind of girl, but I've fallen head over heels in love with this formula too! It is very easy to apply and blend and feels weightless on the skin. I appreciate how this doesn't settle into my pores or make them appear larger. I'm impressed at how well this wears on the cheeks too! It has some amazing staying power! I went from 7am-6pm and still had the same amount of gorgeous color. The shade SPICE is actually quite neutral and gives me a healthy glow. Being quite fair with light eyes, I didn't think this would work well on my cheeks, but I was wrong. A small, blended amount is perfect for a "no makeup- makeup" look, and adding a bit more really pops the cheekbones! With a nice brush or blender, even a clean finger (you know I tried all for review purposes!), it really blends out well with soft edges.
On top of being a great blush, this little pod doubles as lipstick! How great is it to have everything seamlessly matching!? This is a MUST for the most natural look again perfect for a no makeup look! The pigment is great and while as a lipstick, this isn't totally transfer proof, it does stay put! Your lips look plump, healthy and have a bit of glossy shine! Talk about space saving in the makeup bag!
I decided to do a face of just The Organic Skin Co. products. My skin was prepped with Task Force Nine (a great base for makeup application), I used both shadows, one on each eye, layered more at the lashline, and my cheeky lip pod on my cheeks and lips. 
I have found a new skincare and makeup obsession! I have already placed an order for even more awesome formuals at TheOrganicSkinCo.com ! I knew when I first saw this bag that these products were going to be incredible! I live for the organic ingredients and the outstanding and versatile formulas!
