Morning routines are so important! It sets the tone for your day. Part of the self love practices should be your oral hygiene routine!
Oil pulling is the act of swishing oil around the mouth for up to 20min. I know this sounds like a lot but my trick to it is oil pulling in the shower while I wash up and 20min flys by! This helps improve oral flora, prevent tooth decay, alleviate bad breath, and strengthen the tissue of teeth and gums. Make sure not to swallow the oil. Best to dispose of in a tissue and toss in the trash, the oil can clog the drains.
I opt for bamboo toothbrushes (no more plastic) and natural toothpaste (my favorite is Young Living brand)!
End your routine by tongue scraping. In Ayurveda, the tongue shares connections with the bodies organs, showing us were there are imbalances. By tongue scraping, it gently removes the toxins from the tongue and stimulates, massages, and cleanses the associated organs and deep tissues. This also helps with bad breath. To do so, take your copper or stainless steel scraper and start at the back of the tongue and gentle scrap towards the tip. Wash the toxins off each time, repeat about 5 times.
