20 of the shades are eyeshadows. The eyeshadows are bright pigmented shades of color, mainly matte. Although some are glittery.

This was my first time buying Morphe eyeshadow. Morphe was launched in 2008 among artists in the Los Angeles area. On their website, Morphe refers to their product as a brand created for creators.
The brand is known for being a bit edgier, and willing to take risks. The website also says they don't like to abide by rules. Then again, who does? 😂
One of their designers is an 18-year-old beauty guru and digital creator, Avani Gregg. Gregg is passionate about art and makeup and her passions unite on this beautiful palette.
I enjoyed the edgy, playful feel of the hues in this palette.
Also, Morphe has a 30-day return policy. So, you can return an item in 30 days without any questions asked.
A List of Key Decision Factors 🖊️
There are 5 priorities I look for when I evaluate any eyeshadow palette.
🎨 Shades Variety
One of the first things I look for in an eyeshadow palette is variety. If I'm purchasing a palette, I want a wide variety of colors to choose from. It's fun to play around and use different shades to build pigment on the skin.
💰 Value for Money/Price
I also look for value in a product. Provided the eyeshadow is decent, and the palette size is generous, I try to get as many pigments as possible. I try to make my money stretch as far as possible without compromising the quality.
🖌 Blendable/Easy to Match
The way the eyeshadow blends and matches other makeup is also important to me. If the makeup gets flaky or splotchy or doesn't have staying power, I'm less likely to wear it.

I think about the ease of application. Ideally, I don't have to spend too long layering the pigments or building them up. It's equally important to me that the makeup is easily removable.

When I ordered this eyeshadow palette from Morphe, I wondered if it would be as nice as it appeared. To my surprise, the palette is more beautiful in real life.

Pros 🥳
✅ There is a wide variety of vibrant colors in the palette. 🌈🌈🌈
✅ The palette comes with personalized drawings from Avani Gregg.
✅ Most of the shades rinsed off easily without any struggle.
✅ There are 30 shades total (with 10 eyeliners) for $30. It's a great value.
✅ It was easy to blend and match.
✅ The 30-day return policy made me more confident in my purchase.
Cons 😔
❌ The eyeliners need a bit of love and weren't quite what I had hoped for. Some shades looked sheer while wet but darkened and became opaque once dry.
❌ Two of the eyeshadows, Hidden and Mama's fav were a bit harder to wash off.
The Competition 💪
As I mentioned, I had never tried Morphe eyeshadow before. But I had been looking for a palette with bright pigments that I could experiment with for quite some time.
Here is a bit about a few similar palettes from competitor brands.
💪1. ColourPop Fade Into the Hue Palette
Let me begin by saying the rainbow colors 🌈 in this palette caught my attention instantly. It has 30 bright pigments, much like the Avani palette.
This palette is $34.00, so it is also similar in price.
Pros 🥳
✅The eyeshadow colors are a lot of fun to play with. There is a wide variety to choose from.
✅This palette has a lot more glitter options as well.
✅This eyeshadow is easy to apply and has great stay power.
✅It's also cruelty-free.
Cons 😔
❌The packaging is not as nice.
❌The glitter does have some fall-out as you're wearing it.
❌There aren't any neutral tones in the palette, but that's to be expected given the nature of it.
💪2. Prados Beauty The Matriarch Eyeshadow Palette
This palette caught my attention because the art on the packaging is bold and beautiful.
Here's what I thought about it overall.
Pros 🥳
✅There are more neutral tones in this palette than in some of the other ones I looked at.
✅If you like having all your makeup in one place, this palette has more nude tones.
✅It also has some vibrant hues to have fun with.
✅The art on the packaging is beautiful and modern.
✅The Prados brand was also founded by Cece Meadows who focuses on inspiring people ✅through the lens of Indigenous communities.
Cons 😔
❌The price is similar to the ColourPop palette, but there wasn't as much variety.
❌I would want a bit more selection and variation considering the price.
💪3. Meera Beauty Co Melancholia Palette
This palette is ultra-pigmented. Although it was inspired by the "holiday blues", its hues can be enjoyed all year long.
This is a 15-pan palette. It has 8 matte shades and 7 shimmer pigments.
This is what I thought about it.
Pros 🥳
✅The packaging is gorgeous.
✅Much like the Avani palette, this packaging focuses on beautiful art and design.
✅The "holiday blues" name was inspired by the owner HP's struggles with mental health. It is a great concept, and I appreciated that.
Cons 😔
❌Unfortunately, even though the price was higher than any of the other brands, the palette didn't offer as many hues.
❌But the cooler pigments included were high-quality and gorgeous.

The Avani Palette Is the Winner ✨
Although I wouldn't say this palette is perfect, I was impressed by 1/4 of the eyeshadows included.
The eyeliner fell short of what I had hoped, but if you are willing to work with it, the palette offers the greatest selection of pigments for the most affordable price.
Why Trust Me? 🤔
I enjoy playing around with unique shades and I have been looking to find some playful, edgy eyeshadow for quite some time. This palette is bold and fun. And it was easier to apply and remove than other palettes I've tried in the past.
I would recommend waiting to see if the palette is on sale, but overall it was a good buy.
I will keep looking for other palettes to play with but, for now, I'm happy with the Morphe x Avani Gregg for the Bebs Artistry palette.
