I’m a little bit addicted to this place. Its so remote and tricky to find, which makes it all the more exciting.
DO NOT FORGET YOUR WATER. The Nevada desert is unforgiving and you will run into real difficulty if you run out. Take more than you think you need, I promise you will drink it all!
If you drive from Los Angeles to Death Valley National Park - then into Nevada through Beatty - you can then carry onto Rachel which is the town just outside Area 51. Again, this is a very very remote hiking area and you need to be careful. Pack food and water and dont get lost.
