So I finally filmed, edited and uploaded a buffalo cauliflower wings recipe! This I think is my most requested recipe so far. I understand why because I think a lot of Americans grew up eating buffalo chicken wings and see buffalo cauliflower wings as a healthy alternative.
I like my version of this recipe because I included chickpea flour which makes this a fully balanced meal that includes protein. Most people will make this as an appetizer which this is perfect for but I often just enjoy it for dinner.
Whenever I’m making an appetizer for a party I try to think of a recipe that is:
➡️ bite sized
➡️ not too spicy in case someone is sensitive
➡️ gluten free in case anyone is celiac
➡️ colorful or eye catching
➡️ has an interesting texture such as a crunch or crispyness
This recipes follows all of those rules which is why I’m so excited to share it with you! This recipe is great for any time of the year and perfect for any holiday in my opinion. I have seen this on the menu at restaurants such as California Pizza Kitchen or better known as CPK but it usually is not vegan unfortunately. My full vegan recipe is below:
Buffalo Cauliflower Wing ingredients (3-4 servings):
1 medium head cauliflower
1/2 cup chickpea flour
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 Tsp paprika
Dash black pepper
1/3 cup buffalo sauce
3 Tbsps butter
1 Tbsp maple syrup
Tofu Ranch ingredients:
7 oz. tofu
1 Tbsp salt
3 Tbsp dill
2 cloves garlic
juice of 1/2 a lemon
1/3 Cup plant milk
Preheat your oven to 450°F and cut the cauliflower into large pieces.
Mix all of the batter ingredients in a medium sized bowl and dip the cauliflower pieces into the batter. Please these pieces on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake the cauliflower for 20 minutes and while they are baking make the buffalo sauce by warming the ingredients in a pan. Be careful to not let the butter burn.
Allow the cauliflower pieces to cool and dip them into the buffalo sauce and bake again for 20 more minutes.
Blend the ranch ingredients in a high-speed blender and serve this with the buffalo cauliflower along with celery. Optional: garnish ranch with fresh or dried dill.
